I would say Adele- the GP has never reacted negatively about her songs. All races, age groups and genders love her. There has never been a backlash or a huge underperformance for even one of her songs. She’s beloved by everybody.July 3, 2019 at 9:48 am #1202960918
I seriously don’t get it. 3 streams on Youtube is the same as 1 stream on Apple Music. Just because you’re rich or prefer Apple Music doesn’t mean your stream should weigh more. Every stream from a US citizen should count the same. A stream is a stream! Charts are not totally correct because of this. I just don’t get it!July 2, 2019 at 12:11 pm #1202959613
Oh my only doubt is that Gaga may not be nominated again with a non-single. But if the Grammy’s actually nominate her again with a non-single. You better bet she’s winning. So for me, I’m not sure whether she’s going to be nominated again, but if she ends up in the list with a non-single again, then I’ll predict a win, just because it’ll reinforce the idea that pop voters love her now.
Gaga can get a nomination but a win is NOT happening. I don’t get your logic. Gaga has a big chance of being nominated and a small chance of winning, not the other way around. Get real, you are only saying this because you are a huge fan.July 2, 2019 at 10:36 am #1202959272
If nominated for Pop Solo, I think Halsey would stand a better chance at the win over Billie since “Without You” was much bigger and has a broader appeal than “bad guy.” If Gaga is nominated, I think she’ll win again, but if not, I think “Thank U, Next” will. My personal picks for nominees would be: – “Always Remember Us This Way” – Lady Gaga – “Never Really Over” – Katy Perry – “Thank U, Next” – Ariana Grande – “If I Can’t Have You” – Shawn Mendes – “Without You” – Halsey If “Juice” by Lizzo is considered Pop, then I’d take out Halsey.
Gaga is not winning and Billie has for sure a thousand percent bigger chance than Halsey- I am not even predicting halsey- Without Me is kinda forgetfulJuly 2, 2019 at 10:34 am #1202959269
But not thanks to the song itself. That’s what I said.
Bad Guy is a bigger success, Without Me was pushed by radios while Bad Guy is having extremely huge streaming power. Overall Bad Guy is way more impactful and bigger than Without Me, it would be #1 right now if not for Old Town Road, it’s chart run is still not done tho!July 2, 2019 at 9:39 am #1202959189
The only time P!nk was snubbed in Pop Solo was this year, and she was nominated the year before for a song of the same album. P!nk is more of a perennial nominee than Gaga. Billie Eilish is not more likely to be nominated than Halsey in Pop Solo considering the songs, Without Me was a #1 hit, bad guy wasn’t. If Billie gets in before her is because of the whole era, not on the song’s “strength”.
Billie has a way bigger chance than HalseyJuly 2, 2019 at 9:36 am #1202959183
I am sorry to interupt, but I am kinda surprised. At least 80% of music industry are on Taylor’s side. The artists who are not are mostly Scooter’s clients or friends (Justin, Demi, his wife and so on). I hope Taylor can get the most out of this situation but now I think we can all agree Justin Bieber is a huge dick- he “apologized” while bashing her in the same post. I don’t think this will be a big factor at the Grammys but it certainly won’t hurt her.June 23, 2019 at 7:43 am #1202948599
Old Town Road will for sure get AT LEAST one GF nomination. This song will break the record for most weeks spent at #1 and will soon be certified DIAMOND. It’s not just a meme song like you’re always saying. It has become a genre-blending sensation and it’s getting a HUGE amount of streams especially in US where it still gets 100M+ every week. If God’s Plan and Rockstar got into GF, Old Town Road is for sure getting in, I even think it can win a Grammy in Rap categories if nominated, but it could also be placed in Pop (for sure not country)!June 22, 2019 at 2:51 am #1202947725
Also Camilla needs to learn to write a song without using “oh na na” or “oh la la” in every goddman sentence lol
Yeah, right- it’s like she writes her own songs lol. The only popular artists that are fully responsible for their music nowadays are Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Sia and maybe a few others. Camila and Shawn are NOT songwriters- the song has 8 songwriters for god’s sake!April 29, 2019 at 2:50 pm #1202872899
Taylor Swift said in the interview that TS7 will be pretty different than the lead single Me! and there will be a lot said on it- she said there are some deep lyrics she’s very proud of. She just liked the feeling that she felt during creating Me! and has confirmed it doesn’t define the album, she also said Me! is not a serious song and she wanted to make it fun and catchy. I think (IF the second and next singles will be more lyrically grown-up and the album is really what she is saying it is) she has a chance in GF- I know she won’t even submit ME! in GF (she ain’t stupid) so let’s wait for the second single and the album, she’s so excited about it so if it won’t dissapoint I could see her win maybe some Grammys
In this weak year, if she releases anything on 1989 quality or even goes back to country (I doubt it) I could see her winning one or two Grammys. Ariana is being seriously overestimated. She’s gonna be The Drake of this year. If Taylor releases 1989-quality she could easily beat Ariana and songs like 7 Rings. Even the generic Me! is better than 7 RingsApril 28, 2019 at 7:57 am #1202870311
Spotify: UK: #6 (-4) Canada: #3 (-2) Germany : #31 (-9) France: #31 (-10) WW: #2 (-1) US: #4 (-2) POP EMERGENCY!!!
Check your facts! #1 in US Spotify!
Btw Taylor was always kinds local. Her numbers were big in US, not in Europe so this doesn’t surprise me. She has never been dominating Worldwide as much as Adele or Ed Sheeran.April 27, 2019 at 3:49 pm #1202869605
Camila Cabello is releasing another album that will be a big contender in Pop categories (after last year’s huge snub with a smash hit Havana)April 27, 2019 at 2:46 pm #1202869573
Adele deserves based on success but she released far far less material than Taylor has. If Adele would be more consistent she would 100% take it but Adele is not greedy while Taylor probably wants this so much that’s why she was rushing with Me! and she probably knew that she would lose everything against Adele in 2021April 27, 2019 at 2:36 pm #1202869562
how does being a songwriter make someone a better singer or musician? Singing is about being an interpreter. You make the lyrics or notes, come to life, using your voice as an instrument. That being said, Beyoncé’s lemonade used too much rap singing, for my taste. I think Adele deserved to beat Beyonce that year. But I think Beyonce deserved to beat Taylor Swift in 2010. Taylor Swift may be a good songwriter, narrator, but her voice, can be weak, and isn’t as mature or strong as Beyoncé’s.
Singing is actually one of the least important aspects of music. There are TONS of incredible perfect strong vocalists in the world but there are only a few exceptional songwriters out there. Also rappers don’t have great nor strong voices, some of them sound horrible if they would sing but still, songwriting, production, emotional interpretation all come before vocal ability. FEARLESS is miles better than Sasha Fierce, way more impactful, successful and also completely written by TaylorApril 27, 2019 at 2:12 pm #1202869536
You don’t have to if you don’t want to. But I’m just pointing out why she would be an exception. It isn’t your average live album.
IT IS. No new original songs at all. They already heard and awarded most of the songs on that album, everybody could record their songs on tour and release it in a Live album. They awarded her for those songs already so…
