What I’m thinking now:
1. Beef
2. White House Plumbers
5. Love & Death
4. Dahmer
5. Fleishman Is In Trouble
6. Black Bird1. Elizabeth Olsen
2. Ali Wong
3. Kathryn Hahn
4. Jessica Chastain
5. Sydney Sweeney
6. Lizzy Caplan1. Steven Yeun
2. Evan Peters
3. Woody Harrelson
4. Jesse Plemons
5. Daniel Radcliffe
6. Taron EgertonNo idea for Supporting, Beef could overperform here just as easily as it could get shut out imo.
April 5, 2023 at 11:22 am #1205378980If Skarsgård goes supporting, Succession could legitimately have five worthy candidates in that category. Of course it’s the year that they get rid of the unlimited ballot. It’ll be a shame but I could honestly see a world where only Culkin and MacFayden make the cut.

February 14, 2023 at 6:11 pm #1205304068For the first two seasons, they both finished filming in May and premiered in November and September, respectively. So six months, then four months. Assuming between six to four months, it should be out this summer.
ReplyFebruary 14, 2023 at 4:13 pm #1205303929I think the show could continue getting tons of acting nominations without getting a series nom anywhere. It’s just unfortunately not that good of a show imo. The performances are incredible but without much substance.
ReplyFebruary 11, 2023 at 1:28 pm #1205300437Just for an interesting perspective I went and checked every year since 2000 (well the ceremonies of 2001 I guess) and looked at which film won the Globe, SAG Ensemble, Critics Choice, and BAFTA compared to the Oscars and this is what I found:
CC: 14 out of 22 years, the winners lined up
SAG: 11 out of 22
BAFTA: 9 out of 22
GG (Drama): 8 out of 22
GG (Comedy): 3 out of 22
February 9, 2023 at 4:43 pm #1205298750Colton Ryan and Chloe Sevigny were both robbed of Emmys nods for The Girl From Plainville. Hoping they can get Guest noms here.
ReplyFebruary 9, 2023 at 1:24 pm #1205298533I’m not gonna update my predictions quite yet but I’m starting to get the feeling the Emmys might go all in for the Yellowjackets actresses. Lynskey and Lewis for sure, Cypress is climbing my rankings. Staunton is obviously a shoe-in and the probable winner, especially if the Yellowjackets ladies split the vote. Natasha Lyonne is a wild card to me, she got in for Russian Doll S1 but couldn’t make it for S2 even with a (imo) less competitive field. I’ll still predict her, but as for the last slot, I have it between four:
Bella Ramsey – I’m still not totally sure if they’ll go all in for The Last of Us, and honestly I think they’d go for Pascal, the guest performers, writing and directing before Ramsey.
Emma D’Arcy – At this point I’m doubting the show gets anything above the line besides a Series nom, and even that is slowly falling down my predictions now.
Sharon Horgan – If the Emmys go for Bad Sisters, the last slot is for sure going to her, but I could easily see it getting ignored as many Critics Choice nominees are.
Elisabeth Moss – Of course there’s always the option they just go for a name check. I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve it, but she’s had her run, and there’s more deserving people out there.
So for right now I’ll say:
Tawny Cypress
Juliette Lewis
Melanie Lynskey
Natasha Lyonne
Bella Ramsey
Imelda Staunton
February 9, 2023 at 12:15 pm #1205298433Since Quinta is such a lover of sitcoms, I think the dream casting choice would be Phylicia Rashad, but maybe that’s asking for too much.
After her defense of Bill Cosby, I’m hoping the industry stays far, far away from Rashad, as fantastic of an actress as she is
ReplyFebruary 3, 2023 at 2:29 pm #1205282956Anyone know why Poker Face is in drama? Shows like Barry and Atlanta are in comedy and even just looking at Rian Johnson, Knives Out and Glass Onion are very similar in tone to Poker Face and they were always considered comedies. I don’t know if the Emmys will embrace the show as a drama as much as they could if it was in comedy. The only reason I could see is trying to get Natasha Lyonne in the super weak Lead Actress category.
