There was an article that they’re strongly considering it which makes sense after last year’s criticism
Interesting! Do you have a link?
ReplyJuly 1, 2022 at 6:46 pm #1205001852I’m so glad they’re separating the categories now. The entire thing was nuts and it took them ages to come to their senses
Wait what? They’ve announced a separate R&B category?!

She also has another announcement coming tomorrow evening, could her long awaited sophomore album actually be dropping in time for the eligibility period? 👀
ReplyJune 26, 2022 at 5:40 pm #1204997013Whilst I don’t think the BET Awards are an indicator for the Grammys at all, Latto just won the BET Award for Best New Artist. I think it’s safe to say she’ll be getting a nomination for Grammys BNA too.
ReplyJune 26, 2022 at 5:33 pm #1204997005I know it’s way too early to even be thinking about performers, but do you think there’s a strong chance that all four of Adele, Beyoncé, Harry & Kendrick will be attending and performing?
Silk Sonic will probably attend but it would make no sense for them to perform for a third time in a row at the 2023 ceremony, considering the album dropped in 2021. Unless they plan to drop a new single?
ReplyJune 26, 2022 at 5:31 pm #1204997001Some artists who I think could potentially perform at this year’s show…
Beyoncé
Nicki Minaj
Harry Styles
Lizzo
Bad Bunny
Rosalía
Megan Thee Stallion
SZA
Post Malone
Future
Lil Nas X
Jack Harlow
Lil Baby
Latto
Chlöe
Tate McRae
Dove Cameron
ShenseeaI don’t see them performing, but Kendrick & Adele would be great.
ReplyJune 25, 2022 at 5:16 am #1204995872Who are the rumored collaborations on Renaissance with? Depending on who it is it could vary Beyonce’s submissions/nominations.
The only rumors I’ve seen so far are Gaga and Rosalía. Bey x Gaga would definitely take BPDGP home.
ReplyJune 24, 2022 at 2:29 am #12049948742023 BPDGP Predictions:
I Like You (A Happier Song) – Post Malone f. Doja Cat
Enemy – Imagine Dragons f. JID
Bam Bam – Camila Cabello f. Ed Sheeran
Coldplay & BTS – My Universe
Sweetest Pie – Megan Thee Stallion f. Dua Lipa
I definitely see myself changing the predictions, especially with SP and My Universe. Yet To Come could be the group’s submission, but submitting the collab with Coldplay is a definite advantage.
These seem quite likely. BPDGP does feel quite underwhelming this year, I think it’s because 2020 and 2021 were full of big-name collaborations.
If Beyoncé has a few collaborations on her album (Gaga and Rosalía are rumored), then I can see that taking either Bam Bam or My Universe’s slot.
ReplyJune 23, 2022 at 4:25 pm #1204994590song for visual media is more stacked than pop duo/group
It’s so stacked with big names, I can see it being a 6-nominee category this year.
Right now I see it as being Ariana x Kid Cudi (Just Look Up), Beyoncé (Be Alive), Encanto cast (We Don’t Talk About Bruno), Gaga (Hold My Hand), H.E.R. (Automatic Woman), & Taylor (Carolina).
The winner will likely be either Beyoncé or Gaga. I would’ve said We Don’t Talk About Bruno at the start of 2022 however that song isn’t big anymore and was only really relevant for a couple months. I can’t even remember the last time I heard about it.
Labrinth & Zendaya’s ‘I’m Tired’ could also sneak in, as well as the song from Turning Red that was written by Billie & Finneas.

June 22, 2022 at 10:08 am #1204992725Would Break My Soul go into BPSP or Best Dance Recording??
June 21, 2022 at 2:59 am #1204991269Do people not like ‘Break My Soul’? Personally I think it’s a bop! Beyoncé even hinted at a dance era back last year in that magazine interview where she said she wants to make music for people to have fun again.
With Drake’s new album, Lizzo’s ‘About Damn Time’ and the upcoming Renaissance, it feels like we’re entering a resurgence of upbeat dub music and personally I’m here for it!
If ‘Break My Soul’ becomes a hit, I think it’ll get into ROTY. I can’t really tell whether it would get into BPSP or Best Dance Recording instead. As for SOTY, I think they might go for ‘Be Alive’ instead or a different song from the album.
June 17, 2022 at 3:41 pm #1204988613Is Drake even going to submit though since he withdrew his CLB nominations last year? Unless that was just a one-off…
There is the potential for BPVA to be Adele vs Beyoncé vs Harry vs Drake vs Lizzo vs Ed. That would actually be interesting.
June 16, 2022 at 5:57 pm #1204987255If Renaissance Act 2 drops for the 2024 eligibility period, can you see a situation where they give Adele the win for this cycle and Beyoncé next time?
It’s actually insane to think that Adele, Kendrick & Silk Sonic all could’ve easily won AOTY in any other year. It’s a shame Kendrick will most likely not win since he’s going up against Bey.
June 16, 2022 at 5:54 pm #1204987251Currently, the locks for rap album are probably Kendrick, Jack & Pusha T. I think Future & Nas would be worthy of the other two slots. Lil Durk is a strong possibility as well. I’d probably count Gunna out now because of the current legal situation.
I’m not sure who else is yet to release in rap before the eligibility ends? Drake is of course dropping tonight but based on last year, I don’t see him submitting.
Megan Thee Stallion has said that she’ll be dropping her sophomore album this summer, she is a 3x Grammy winner however if they didn’t nominate Good News what are the chances of nominating the next album? Suppose it depends on the album’s content.
Lil Baby has an album coming soon, so I guess that could be a contender. I’m not sure if Nicki will actually drop her anticipated fifth album by September – and whether she’ll actually submit – but that’s a possibility.
Either way, all of this talk is essentially pointless because Kendrick is definitely taking home Best Rap Album (and more than likely all four rap categories!)
