Do you seriously believe Malek’s getting a standing ovation? For what?
I don’t think any of the supporting actresses gets either, maybe only darling Emma but if she wins it’ll be such a shocker that nobody will bother to stand up.
Glenn is getting it 100% and Spike, if he actually wins Adapted. I think they will give one to Mahershala too.February 20, 2019 at 2:51 pm #1202783009
Agreed. From everything I’ve seen it seems like Green Book will have enough second and third place votes to take Best Picture. I’m happy about that. Green Book was one of my fave films this year.
Green Book broke my heart, most especially Ali’s performance & the whole atmosphere in general with the last 15 minutes in NYC and Christmas being the deathblow. Ms. Cardellini was exceptional in it too. Wasn’t fond of Viggo’s performance though. I think it’s gonna win Picture too nonetheless.February 20, 2019 at 7:10 am #1202782450

The Hollywood Reporter predicts Amy Adams darlings. Go see the article. I’d be happy with that outcome too. Rachel and Amy are much, MUCH more deserving.February 19, 2019 at 4:48 pm #1202781935
That is completely untrue, some people just repeat the same nonsense over and over again, like “she was just crying and yelling”, well she DID NOT, that was just in the first two episodes, and even then, this is a very difficult thing to do since she was doing it as a person full of phobias. After that her character COMPLETELY changed. I do not see a single similarity with Asylum. Lana will be her best AHS character, this was a role of a life time and became what she is now entirely due to that role, something that she has acknowledge herself. Also, she publicly defended her Emmy nomination for Cult, so she did enjoy it and was proud of it.
She indeed was very proud and happy and she stated that many times. She didn’t expect to get nominated for Cult mainly because of her snub the previous year for AHS Roanoke and she also publicly declared the snub of Evan Peters which was a big disappointment to her.February 19, 2019 at 4:19 pm #1202781907
Times is REALLY pushing Weisz these last couple of weeks: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/14/t-magazine/how-rachel-weisz-saved-my-life.html?fbclid=IwAR3YEYcRX6kmJU_XRO666rVHVsNanDL-aeDqAj9zDT76F5f0PGN09AhwQak
It’s because they have taste and dignity unlike some other people here.
I just found out that Regina King (Tom said it in a new GD vid) wasn’t even supposed to present at the BAFTAs and some editor here called ‘her people’ or the studio and suggested she definitely attend. Her people thought that was the right thing and called BAFTA and they accepted her. Then here they called her move ‘VERY SMART’ as if the studio or her managers themselves had thought of it and no word on their ridiculous involvement. The hypocrisy of it all.
Rachel is still winning for the record.February 18, 2019 at 4:11 pm #1202780872

I just saw this and ummm… where do I sign up? Or should I go to the president of the Academy a là Crawford and fiercely demand that they do it providing us a chauffeur too?February 18, 2019 at 3:56 pm #1202780858
I agree, horrendous performance! But that was a weak year for the category anyway. I would not have chosen any of the nominees. If I had to choose one, I guess I would pick Sissy Spacek by default.
Nicole Kidman nominated for Moulin Rouge and it was a weak year? Sure, Jan!February 18, 2019 at 1:27 pm #1202780702
Every major block out there predicts King. That’s not good. I’m sticking with Rachel no matter what btw.February 17, 2019 at 5:31 pm #1202779621
That Cult performance was my favorite performance of her’s and if she was going to win for the series, I thought she should’ve won for that or Coven. I think either she or Dern were definitely the runner-ups.
The truth is the truth. Loved her in Cult. The Ally Mayfair-Richards arc was hands down ACES. What a performance. It’s a blessing to witness such greatness once in a while. Sis Kellis proves once again her rich taste.
