High as hopeJune 29, 2018 at 10:10 am #1202576486
Yeah I agree I’m a fan of the new Florence album. June, south London forever, Patricia, 100 years, and the end of love are great!June 21, 2018 at 8:41 am #1202570464
Florence will be nominated whether it’s in the rock field or in the pop field. If the Grammys choose to move her to rock they’ll be one more open spot in Pop Vocal Album.
Christina Aguilera has a shot. So does Ariana.
Last time around she got 2 nominations in the rock field 1 tech nomination and 2 in the pop field, so they could put her in both categories this time around just like last time.June 20, 2018 at 8:27 pm #1202570114
Honey, what in the Joe Jonas is going on! You cannot compare Kelly Clarkson and Floerence + the Machine in terms of the Grammys. Clarkson has received four Best Pop Vocal Album nominations and two wins. Florence has never even fucking won. Just because they got in two previous times, does NOT guarantee a third time. Plus, the last time they got in, it was a weaker year than this year. Put the bong down, dude!
Ok, whatever you say. Let’s talk about Christina Aguilera’s Chances at the Grammys….June 20, 2018 at 5:07 pm #1202569939
Honey, I doubt Florence + the Machine are getting a Best Pop Vocal Album nomination.
Why not? Obsiously we have to wait until it comes out next Friday and see how it does on the album charts, but her last album came in at #1 when her first hit a peak of #14 And her second at #6. She’s gaining more of an audience and also some respect from the Grammys.June 20, 2018 at 4:40 pm #1202569927
The main point is that there’s many artists in the running for Pop Vocal Album, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see many of them being snubbed or one of them appearing in AOTY.
Swift and Kelly Clarkson are probably locks and possibly P!nk.
High as Hope – Florence
Sweetener – Ariana Grande
Liberation – Christina Aguilera
Man of the Woods – Justin Timberlake
The Thrill of it All – Sam Smith
Camila – Camila Cabello
Red Pill Blues – Maroon 5
Shawn Mendes – Shawn Mendes
Florence has a shot, she’s a previous nominee (and the last time she was nominated her album wasn’t successful and the new one probably won’t be) and she deserves.
Ariana Grande got nominated for her last albums and she’s on the media, they’ll remember her once more. We didn’t hear the album but it won’t be a disaster, probably.
For the others they can be snubbed or not. We can’t be sure about what the voters will feel about it.
By now I’m predicting:
Meaning of Life – Kelly Clarkson
Reputation – Taylor Swift
Beautiful Trauma– P!nk
High as Hope – Florence + the Machine
Sweetener – Ariana Grande
There may be one more spot and it would be filled by Liberation (Xtina) or Man of the Woods (Justin Timberlake
Florence’s Last album wasn’t a success? It sold 1 million copies in a year and got five Grammy nominations when their previous 2 albums could only get 1 and 2 nominations. And seeing that her music isn’t straight pop those aren’t bad sales. Seems to me like that Grammys have warmed up to FATM over the years…May 3, 2018 at 8:16 am #1202539708
Excited for new Florence and hozier music this year. It’s been 3 years since Florence got 5 Grammy nominations from her last album, and it’s been about 4 years since the take me to church era.October 23, 2017 at 11:19 am #1202246086
Wow only took Taylor 9 weeks to go down to #10 lolSeptember 12, 2016 at 11:36 am #1201921060
Lady gaga and Florence Welch have a duet on the album!July 27, 2016 at 11:47 pm #1201881006
What’s funny is that this category was made for Beyonce yet Florence + the machine deserves it.July 8, 2016 at 9:39 pm #1201861368
What about “Delilah” by Florence and the machineJune 2, 2016 at 7:21 am #1201843509
I also heard that Vincent Haycock, the director of the odyssey, turned down lemonade to make the odyssey.June 2, 2016 at 7:19 am #1201843505
Did anyone else watch their music film for the album “the odyssey”? It’s free on YouTube and it’s pretty good. She might get a nomination next year for best music film. HBHBHB did get 5 nods last year and sold over 1 million copies by the end of 2015.March 30, 2016 at 10:33 am #602440
Florence Welch of course.
