I don’t think Beyonce will win with that amount of writers and the ton of samples, considering MJB is nominated too, she must have taken a good amount of votes from her. The same with Kendrick. I think this is between Adele, Harry vs Brandi Carlile.
ReplyFebruary 1, 2023 at 6:11 am #1205279219Harry could win over Adele in the pop field, considering pop voters love to award hits and longevity, something that Harry had this past cycle. However, the general field is a much bigger voting body with everyone voting, so I don’t think Harry could beat Adele there.

ReplyJanuary 30, 2023 at 4:29 pm #1205275260Samara Joy, Domi and JD Beck and Muni Long are playing the politics at the grammys, so I guess the winner is between them. I still expect a Wet Leg upset, their album was great.
ReplyJanuary 30, 2023 at 4:27 pm #1205275256Taylor won’t go, because she’s not nominated for AOTY and she won’t win SOTY, she acts like the grammys owe her an award every year. Gone are the days when she used to attend the premiere ceremony.
ReplyDecember 8, 2022 at 10:01 am #1205183173Could these well-known celebs stop trying to sabotage the short film categories? Let it for the actual talented and unknown filmmakers to have their moment, instead of them trying to get a quick lil oscar. Especially Taylor doing the most shamelessly for a music video. Hopefully the short film branch pay them dust as always.
December 4, 2022 at 10:24 am #1205177654The oscars are way more transparent than the grammys in terms of voting. Is it confirmed that The Weeknd is releasing music for the film? Because I thought that “Song Chord” was the original main song for the film. Perhaps, it’s an album “inspired by the film” or he’s just promoting the movie.

Will there be nominations? I thought they will directly announce a winner, like the juried emmys.

ReplyNovember 12, 2022 at 7:33 pm #1205149612The Weeknd snub is a clear example of grammys corruption. We get that they wanted to award “COVID related music” just for the sake of it, but he was a previous AOTY, ROTY and BPSP nominee with a less popular record, then he was everywhere for a long time with Blinding Lights and he didn’t get any noms? The snub was clearly a message to him and other artists who “dare” to not prioritize grammys over anything else. Harvey should be ashamed himself for letting a fellow black artist get insulted that way.
ReplyNovember 12, 2022 at 6:56 pm #1205149600I also disagree, the category seems too crowded now, like 5 or 6 nominees. Sound editors and sound mixers have different guilds for a reason, the nominees were quite the same with one or two different nominees, but there were always one that shined in one or the other aspect, I’m surprised they allowed the combination. Also, I expected that the academy would replace the sound editing category with a new award like Best Stunt/Choreography Coordination, Best Casting or Best VR project (this is definitely happening in the future).

Last year, he withdrew his nominations because he didn’t sneak into the GF and he thought Kanye and Tyler were going to beat his a**, and they did. He just doesn’t like to lose, no other reason.
