I know that it’s an niche show but i wish Disentchantment would get some Emmy love. It’s vastly better than the newer Simpsons episodes (and they still get some Emmy recognition). But i know it’ll probably never happen.December 19, 2019 at 7:29 pm #1203244675
Parasite – 10/10. Talented brilliant amazing show stopping etc etc. Truly the best film that i’ve seen so far and deserves every inch of acclaim it gets.
Midsommar – 7.5/10. It was such a trip (and so beautifully shot), i’m still iffy about the ending, it’s quite open for me and i’m not sure if i’m on board with it
Judy – 6.5/10. While Renee was marvelous and the cast as a whole was enjoyable, i just couldn’t get behind the flashbacks, the editing and the whole Sidney drama. I enjoyed Renee’s voice, she’s a wonderful entertainer.December 19, 2019 at 7:23 pm #1203244657
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Just watched Judy and i must say that Renee was just to good in a really OK-ish film (the ending was…cringe to say the least)</p>
Having said that, i prefer Scarlett & Lupita’s performance over hers.December 19, 2019 at 12:56 pm #1203244264
Awkwafina and Lupita are really coming to fill the last two remaining spots
in my wildest dreamsDecember 19, 2019 at 7:11 am #1203243897
Good. It was much more enjoyable last year and the reception was much more positive.
It would be a dream if they would cut all of those unnecessary moments in hopes to go ‘viral’ (i.e Ellen calling the pizza guy or Kimmel going to that cinema with the celebrities) and just go straight to the point but i know i’m asking for too much.December 18, 2019 at 12:55 pm #1203242978
There’s no way JLo is missingDecember 15, 2019 at 3:36 pm #1203238688
Eh, Charlize won while Wuornos was not the most likeable person (though her life was definetly hard and more often than not her murders were in self defense).December 15, 2019 at 1:02 pm #1203238501
So far Lupita has won AAFCA Boston Online Chicago NYFCC NYFCO Oklahoma Philadelphia Phoenix San Diego Toronto Washington Women Film Critics + a bunch of runner ups including LAFCA If it wasn’t for HFPA she’d literally be contending for an historic win. Now she has to fight for her slot with typical, passionless Oscar bait performances. I fucking hate them

It’s my line up for now.December 13, 2019 at 8:20 pm #1203235453
The most underrated supporting role of the year? Yes.December 13, 2019 at 8:17 pm #1203235451
Lupita was RAVISHING, oh my goodness. I need directors/producers to give her more types of these chances because this was outstanding.
I would be completely crushed if she misses the Oscars, she delivered.December 13, 2019 at 7:32 am #1203234788
Unbelievable sweeping the Miniseries categories and Olivia/Helena/Tobias winning their respective categories. We would love to see it!December 12, 2019 at 12:41 pm #1203233996
1) Parasite deserves Best Picture. Period.
2) I’m conflicted with Florence Pugh complete shutout sans the CC considering her amazing year with Midsommar & Little Women, and also the consistently amazing work she has been doing these last couple of years. I think they just didn’t really like the movie (sans for Saoirse who is also in thin ice).December 12, 2019 at 12:39 pm #1203233989
So now that Pugh’s chances are basically gone and Scarlett pulled through with the SAG nomination, could she potentially be double nominated?. It would be iconic if she went from 0 nominations to 2 in a span of 24 hours.
I’m still praying and preaching that Zhao somehow pulls through and maybe one of the parasite girls surprises, but i’m not certain at all.December 10, 2019 at 7:44 pm #1203230059
The Farewell deserves nominations in the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress & Best Original Screenplay categories. Lulu Wang did a wonderful work and deserves to be recognized.
