I don’t see them getting Davidson in. They couldn’t last year in a far from stacked category, and he’s missed half the season. I think his foot is already half out the door. There’s a part of me that thinks SNL will get completely shut out in both Supp Actor and Guest Actress (unless Natasha Lyonne knocks it out the park, which is entirely possible)
Which leads me onto… Edie Falco playing his mom in his Peacock series. Edie why?May 15, 2022 at 4:05 am #1204952511
Loved this and seeing the results, thank you for your time doing it!April 27, 2022 at 1:07 pm #1204934735
Yep, the storyline with none of the adults recognising the woman while playing GUESS WHO? was a stroke of absolute genius. Then the way it linked into the young cast’s storyline. This final season is doing everything right.April 25, 2022 at 2:04 pm #1204931635
Not that it necessarily means too much but The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe has had an incredible 7 day ratings performance receiving a consolidated total of 8.66 million viewers for ITV (and topping the four screen viewing data from BARB of all broadcasters of the week of 11-17 April). Since the start of the year only four other dramas have topped the chart (Call the Midwife, Our House, The Tourist and Trigger Point) and only The Tourist received a similar audience size.
Deserved. It really surpassed my expectations, and not to sound like a broken record but Monica Dolan gave a phenomenal performanceApril 25, 2022 at 2:01 pm #1204931624
This was so, so cute, I loved every second spent in this world. Loved the main two characters, loved Tao and especially Elle, would have loved to have spent more time with Tara, Darcy and Jacob too. Every LGBTQ+ teen should get to have Olivia Colman play their mother.April 25, 2022 at 11:42 am #1204931350
I think Chivalry is comedy, but the trailer is not endearing it to me at all. I love Lolly Adefope, but think this is one where I’ll have to hear raves from others before checking it out.April 23, 2022 at 7:56 am #1204928736
Dealing with the onslaught of so much new TV content by watching Old Enough! on Netflix all the time instead.
It’s got everything; narrative, emotion, the C-scale as a theme tune, parents watching as their child drops all their shopping and lets an apple roll down a hill 3 times.
But honestly, having Russian Doll, Barry, Heartstopper and eternal guilty pleasure Selling Sunset all drop on the one weekend – chef’s kiss.April 21, 2022 at 11:24 am #1204926091
When you missed out on the 100/1 odds first time but hear she’s going back to Supporting.April 20, 2022 at 11:50 am #1204925004
Julia Louis Dreyfus winning 6! Three would have been enough. 6 is way too much even if your performance is top notch. It’s not as if other nominees didn’t give Emmy worthy performances.
Yeah it feels like sacrilege to say on these forums, but I agree. I mostly like JLD’s performance on Veep, but Kudrow and Poehler deserved their flowers. I don’t love Tony Hale being the only supporting win for Veep either.April 20, 2022 at 11:29 am #1204924974
Love the girls but honestly I think the most underrated and award-worthy is Mary. The Irish mam icon. The episode where she’s trying to work out who’s Keyser Soze is a belter of a performance.
Last night’s episode proved this more than anything! Love Mary. Also agree, Saoirse-Monica Jackson has always been good but never wowed me – she was fantastic in this episode.

Seeing a lot of press for The Thief, His Wife and A Canoe starting Easter Sunday on ITV. Never underestimate Monica Dolan.
Monica is coming for the BAFTA.
Or at least she would be, if I didn’t have the BAFTA history of fellow ITV dramas Des and Quiz as a worrying pre-indicator.April 18, 2022 at 3:23 am #1204921465
Ladies and gentlemen, me! Iconic.
Best episode in a while for me. Lizzo brought so much enthusiasm – I too watch the Aidy B & Lizzo sketch still on a regular basis. Loved the orchestra, ancient orgy sketch, the game show (those can go either way) and really enjoyed Melissa’s update piece. The Cut for Time Glitter Revolution band is such a great recurring piece (thank Lizzo for being far less robotic than Kim). I know a lot of people don’t like when the guests break, but Lizzo got me every time. Have her back every week!
The only sketch that didn’t work for me was the Six Flags sketch, but that’s probably because I’m in the UK and don’t really get the reference.April 15, 2022 at 6:31 am #1204917842
I would be surprised if Will Forte makes it in, I don’t think his episode – and it being generally a cross-promotional MacGruber tie-in was that well received. I also wouldn’t underestimate John Mulaney for a nomination, he’s been here before.
The only SNL host I actively want to see nominated in this category would be Oscar Issac. Not now
