Not sure if it could be done as a miniseries, maybe like an anthology following each of the 3 women per season? Idk … but I’d love to see an adaptation of Wild Swans by Jung Chang.May 3, 2020 at 9:52 am #1203460281

I found the premiere pretty dull, it just felt bland to me. I really loved season one so it’s so disappointing how far this show has fallen in terms of quality, if ever a show should have been a limited series it should have been Killing Eve. This show has nothing new to say anymore.
Sandra should just campaign for supporting at this point lol, she certainly was not a lead last season and it looks like this season is a continuation of that. I could see the series dropping out of a few of the major categories such as writing and maybe directing, especially with the tougher competition this year. Comer still delivers a watchable performance, but I don’t think that’s enough to carry the whole show though. I didn’t mind Kenny dying, they already have too many characters they can’t be bothered to develop, so maybe this will mean we get more fiona Shaw?
Curious to see where this season goes, as they haven’t set up anything to really grab the audience so far.January 17, 2020 at 8:43 am #1203289186
I don’t know what her singing ability is like, but I have always envisioned Sarah Paulson playing Miss Honey.January 15, 2020 at 8:06 am #1203285846

This casting is God awful… why do we even need another version? It’s been done to death already.January 15, 2020 at 12:44 am #1203285412
I personally really enjoyed Marriage Story, Jojo Rabbit, Little Women and Parasite.
Joker and 1917 were middling for me.
Didn’t care for The Irishman, Ford V. Ferrari or Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
So overall this was a mixed year for me. The only film I would have been really enthused about getting nominations/wins this awards season was The Farewell and that didn’t happen.I strongly recommend giving some of these movies a chance though…January 14, 2020 at 3:50 am #1203283367
I don’t think Dune is likely to get into the major acting categories; I think it will be more of a Mad Max situation. I would love to be wrong though.January 14, 2020 at 3:34 am #1203283359

She was simply too young to win for Atonement, but I think it is by far her best performance. As stated above she could have won for Brooklyn and she really should have; Larson was a poor choice in my opinion (especially considering Tremblay outacted her).January 14, 2020 at 2:29 am #1203283308
If this is anything like the book the ending will be disappointing and completely unsatisfying (King builds an interesting case with the conflicting evidence, which is intriguing until the explanation for it is revealed). Saying that I haven’t been a fan of much that Stephen King has pumped out in the last 10 years…January 9, 2020 at 2:52 am #1203271798
She can’t even do stay in an American accent and she’s been living in America for many decades now. I wouldn’t get my hopes up about a completely different accent.
Oh I’m 100% certain her accent will be all over the place; she’s always struggled with accents. I’m just looking forward to seeing how dodgy it is. It could hurt her awards chances though if it’s truly awful!
That sounds boring af.
That’s because it is… and the ending is really obvious and has no real surprises at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep the characters and setting, but twist the story somewhat to make it a murder mystery.January 8, 2020 at 5:36 am #1203270245
I personally found the book to be very disappointing, and found that not only was the story not that interesting but the characters were just caricatures of people.
Hopefully this will be like Big Little Lies, where the miniseries completely elevates the material. Lets just hope that they can also build a good ensemble of actors and have some decent writers.
I’m also exciting to see what Nicole’s Russian accent sounds like and whether or not she will be able to pull it off.January 7, 2020 at 4:23 am #1203267932
I think she will definitely be a double nominee, however I don’t see her winning either award. If anything the nominations themselves are her reward; she has finally broken through with awards voters and I am certain she will have a project in the future she could win with.
I think Zellweger and Dern have won simply too many precursor awards for them to lose at this point.
