Gaga lost all 10 of her GF nominations lmao. She’s the Glenn Close of the music industry.
Not really, because Gaga has won before… If anything Katy Perry is the Glenn Close of the music industry.
ReplyMarch 27, 2022 at 2:34 pm #1204879758Even though I think Ariana will win, I am hearing so many last minute talks about Aunjanue Ellis………..could she pull an upset?
I doubt King Richard will walk away with two acting Oscars. We all know Smith is almost locked so that would be the way to reward the film. Plus, Ariana has won all the awards, she straight up swept the whole season. She is in a Best Picture nominated film directed by Spielberg and plays an iconic role that won an Oscar before! I think it’s Ariana’s to lose.
ReplyMarch 27, 2022 at 2:30 pm #1204879745I can see a lot of people predicting Penelope but I will stick to Chastain. As much as I loved that performance by Cruz she just has so many obstacles and a win would be unprecedented. Jessica on the other hand goes in with a Golden Globe nomination and SAG and Critics Choice wins. Plus, although her film wasn’t universally loved she is as an actress and I think her speech at SAG will resonate with a lot of voters especially the acting branch. I will be happy if Kristen or Penelope win though. I really don’t think Nicole or Olivia need a second Best Actress Oscar and definitely not for their respective films.
ReplyMarch 26, 2022 at 3:28 am #1204876832So I randomly had a dream watching the Oscars, and Licorice Pizza and Drive My Car won Original and Adapated respectively.
In a year that makes zero sense, I guess I’m just gonna roll with it. Maybe my subconscious knows better.. lmao
I had a dream CODA won Best Picture, no joke. I don’t know how to feel…
ReplyMarch 26, 2022 at 3:19 am #1204876829Darling, he’s out of the race month ago (thank god), but I’m here to inform y’all that Our beloved Mario Bros has won a very well deserved Razzie Awards for his hilariously campy, offensive performance in House of Gucci.
congratulations lol
Well at least he won something this season… 😂

Or Supporting Actor!
March 2, 2022 at 4:42 am #1204827527The strangest part was that said he is a fan of Campion’s work. Maybe he’s helping her win LOL
She don’t need no help, she’s got the Oscar in the bag!
March 2, 2022 at 4:39 am #1204827525I’m happy Ariana won. She was amazing. A bit too much at times but amazing. I just have an issue with SAG. They claim WSS was snubbed because of screeners but still awarded a performance in the film???
Perhaps they just didn’t like West Side Story, at least not enough to give it an ensemble nomination, it’s simple. They obviously saw the movie otherwise how would they nominate and award DeBose?
March 1, 2022 at 7:46 am #1204825863True. They prefer safer choices and so they have awarded Anti-Heroines only on a few occasions. I can think of only two examples: Charlize Theron (Monster) Kate Winslet (The Reader) [Theron won GG,CC,SAG and Oscar and Winslet won GG,CC,SAG,BAFTA and Oscar- so both were kind of sweepers]
Yeah. Add Kathy Bates to that list although she only won the Oscar and the Golden Globe (SAG and Critics Choice didn’t even exist). What an iconic performance!
ReplyMarch 1, 2022 at 7:38 am #1204825837I think both Kodi and Troy were equally great and they’re both deserving winners. They’re both actually in Best Picture nominated films so in my opinion they’re going head to head… If Troy Kotsur manages to win the Bafta I think I’ll predict him for the Oscars.
March 1, 2022 at 7:34 am #1204825825And none of the other nominees were particularly challenging to her. The only one among them who was in a BP Nominee was Jones but there was she was not winning,so it was a cakewalk for Moore.
Yeah, exactly. I have always thought that Rosamund Pike was second that year but the Academy rarely awards antiheroine characters… we all know they had the opportunity to give the Oscar to Mulligan last year and see how that ended up. They like to go for the “safe” choice sometimes.
ReplyMarch 1, 2022 at 7:25 am #1204825809No I don’t think so. You need to remember this: Ma Rainey didn’t get BP, Director, Screenplay nor Editing nomination whereas KR did with the exception of Director. I think Ma Rainey NOT getting those nominations hurt Chadwick and I think even though if Will loses BAFTA, he’s still the front runner because KR over performed with nominations NOT only did they get BP, Screenplay and Editing but with Smith for Actor, Ellis got SA and Be Alive by Beyonce got Original Song…………… The Wife was Glenn Close sole nomination and I really think that hurt her. Surprisingly, Julianne Moore won for Still Alice which the sole nomination
Julianne was able to overcome the obstacle of being the sole nomination of her film for three reasons. She was praised for her performance, was considered overdue, and swept throughout the whole season.
