Just wow, this lived up to the hype.
I read this thread, and I’m surprised some didn’t laugh in some scenes. I would of been fine if film would of stayed in comedy at golden globes.
Fennell deserves the first time director awards. This movie was a tricky one to get right.
now, the ending, I thought it was perfect. I won’t get into detail but it worked for me.I would support a nomination for Bo. He had a role that he had to make her like him and he was successful.
Now Carey, I didn’t think that she would ever top her little seen performance in Wild Life but she did. At first I wasn’t into the performance , but as it went along , I love it more and more.
I didn’t really think anyone would beat Frances and I have seen most best actress performances except for Zendaya and Day. But I am all for Carey winning.
the only thing that I would see it not getting the votes is male voter that probably would feel threatened by the films topic.

ReplyJanuary 11, 2021 at 5:35 pm #1203978096I’m a huge Kidman fan but I just don’t see it. Like someone on twitter said she has been able to move face in a couple of decades . So can she be able to move face like Lucille. If they wanted to cast out of the box. I wouldn’t have minded Kate Winslet. She would be someone unexpected.
ReplyJanuary 11, 2021 at 5:29 pm #1203978086Pretty things characters are in there 20’s . So if she is starting in. They are going to change tons of things then. Unless she is playing small role of either Mother. Since, a lot of the plot hinges on the age.
ReplyJanuary 11, 2021 at 11:16 am #1203976725I thought She said in some interview that she was starting in it.
No matter of casting. This is filming soon Bc the author of book commented on Lulu “let the adventure begin”Kidman or who ever is lead has a good role to work with. If she is not starting, she should of offered to Naomi Watts

I’m finding it pretty boring. However, my favorite game is seeing which known actor come on for worthless minute long cameos. So many actors that I recognize come on for minutes.
This has to be Alexander Sarsgard easiest paycheck. So far he appears for about a minute In each episode that has aired.

I been saying this since I watched The Father. This forum is the one saying she was getting nominated no matter what. I see her missing easily.
ReplyDecember 31, 2020 at 3:50 pm #1203955551I’m more than a bit skeptical of people saying Nomadland doesn’t deserve these awards so early on. If not skeptical, then I’m questionable of their taste.
from someone that seen Nomadland, you can question their taste.
December 30, 2020 at 11:46 pm #1203954328I finally finished all.
Alex W. ChApter was the weakest for me.
Education and Lovers rock my fav. I’m curious to know how long did they film party . Did the actors get sick of song by the end.
Also, do we know why it’s called Small Axe? Is it a reference that I missed.
ReplyDecember 30, 2020 at 4:47 pm #1203953869I rewatched Terms of Endearment the other day and I don’t think it has aged well. I doubt With Winger difficult reputation if she would ever get nominated again
ReplyDecember 30, 2020 at 4:33 pm #1203953863I wonder if they will push this back to past June to be eligible for the 2022 Emmys, and she has a chance to win back-to-back. Disney said the show would get released on Hulu in 2021, but did not give an exact date or time-frame…
I believe I saw somewhere that it was expected to premiere in March.

I watched thru VirtuAl Film festival. Best thing that came out of Quarantine times was that I could watch movies virtual from New York , Chicago and Hamptons Film Festival
December 26, 2020 at 11:48 am #1203946408I’m on third one. I’m enjoying it but I’m not going “I need to watch next episode immediately.”

I was expecting to be more soapy.
I have to say the strongest part of show is the cast. I can’t think of a weak link. However , my fav is the Queen Bc she is so out there.December 24, 2020 at 2:50 pm #1203944017More months pass since the end of last awards season, and the more gets consolidated the notion that at the end of the day Joker was Phoenix’s Scent of A Woman, terrific by any other actor’s standards but definitely not his best, and a heavy concatenation of his worst instincts. Driver, DiCaprio, and Banderas were all better picks for the win, and should have won. Pryce shouldn’t even have been nominated, when Egerton in Rocketman and DeNiro in The Irishman were there.
I don’t mind Phoenix winning but honestly any of the nominees of last year could of won in other years.
I have never been a Banderas fan but that changed with last years movie.
