Are we able to request contenders to be added within reason (as long as it’s only a few) like previous years?
ReplyMarch 18, 2017 at 1:23 am #1202039549If anything his success from Logan could help catapult him into a nomination for The Greatest Showman on Earth depending on how awards season works out.

ReplyMarch 12, 2017 at 5:45 pm #1202035393This is ridiculous. She’s an actress. She knows what the Oscar game entails. If your film/performance isn’t getting momentum or mentions anywhere, it probably isn’t getting nominated. She wasn’t even nominated at the AARP awards or whatever they’re called…and they love older actresses in well-reviewed films.
ReplyMarch 4, 2017 at 2:24 am #1202029068Adams is a talented actress, but a lot of her performances are overrated. For example, she did not deserve awards recognition for American Hustle. I didn’t think she did anything noteworthy in Nocturnal Animals and almost everyone else in the film acted circles around her. She was very good in Arrival, though, and definitely should’ve gotten in over Streep or Negga.

ReplyFebruary 22, 2017 at 11:28 am #1202018616I don’t understand why voters keep having the same critique of Huppert’s performance. That was the point of her character and the film! Why do characters that go through certain tropes always have formulaic expectations of behavior? Stupid.
Right?? It’s natural to just button up your blouse, went to dinner with your friends and ex, and masturbate to your neighbor after you get raped. Maybe she liked being raped! She even went along with it after she found out about the rapist. Women take note. Rape may not be that bad.
Everyone reacts to trauma differently. That’s called the human experience.
ReplyFebruary 21, 2017 at 10:19 pm #1202018185These were cringeworthy to watch. It was like a car crash in a slow motion that I was hoping wouldn’t happen, but deep down I knew that it would. And every time La La Land won an award I died a little inside.
ReplyFebruary 21, 2017 at 10:14 pm #1202018180I’m dreading hearing La La Land and its music a million times. Luckily the drinking game I made for my Oscar party has “Take a shot every time La La Land wins an award.” …I might die and I would probably be okay with it after the inevitable outcome of the evening.

ReplyFebruary 1, 2017 at 11:06 am #1202000921Why do these have to make me cringe EVERY year? And the fact that they are in the actor’s branch is scaaaary. I’m glad they’re still voting for Viggo, even though they didn’t like the film. It always pisses me off when they write off a performance just because they didn’t care for the film.
