Nope. Never understood why so many were pushing it.January 17, 2020 at 11:52 pm #1203290318
I just got done watching Parasite again tonight and it’s editing is top notch. Multiple montages and slo mo action. Maybe this year wont be so boring after all?January 17, 2020 at 6:46 pm #1203290031
Why do we have to wait another month for oscars to announce winners we already know.January 17, 2020 at 5:29 pm #1203289955
What are the odds Hustlers is J-Lo’s Magic Mike? Rather than her one and only shot, it’s the start of Lopez-aissance that leads to her being back in the conversation in a couple years? Crazier things have happened – not to mention both are literally about more seasoned strippers taking younger up and comers under their wing and then turning on them, but that’s more of just a fun coincidence
I think the biggest thing in her way was her reputation, that this was the first good movie she was in in years. But the next good movie she makes won’t be the first one anymore
Doesnt look like she is following it up with an oscar worthy film. Here is synopsis
A pop superstar is jilted by her rock-star fiancé moments before their wedding at Madison Square Garden, so she marries a random guy from the crowd instead.

I had no idea what to expect when I first put it so glad it ended up in my top 3 of the year.
Agree with Last Black Man. That was a knockout.
Surprised me in a bad way was Detective Pikachu. That was awful. Endgame surprised me in a bad way since it was just fan service. Also Far from Home surprised me in a good way since I was expecting more routine storytelling and they took some risks.
Cold Case Hammarskjold surprised in because it went to a place where i had no idea where it was going.
To the Stars was really sweet.
I liked Leto too.
Wild Rose was awesome.
I saw For Sama after it did well at BAFTA and was blown away by it.
Booksmart was a nice surprise too.
I’m sure there were others but thats all I can think of for now.January 17, 2020 at 5:17 pm #1203289947
All of them? It would be better to ask who is more deserving which is a shorter list. Anyway the Overrated in the top 8.

Yes, most likely. Especially if it agrees with SAG.January 16, 2020 at 10:19 pm #1203288663
I’m reminded of the year when Denzel Washington beat Casey Affleck to win the Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.
Brad Pitt does not have a sexual harassment claim about him that occurred in the middle of the voting period. He also has one of the showiest roles in the contention. Pesci does not. The differences between these two seasons could not be starker.January 16, 2020 at 9:23 pm #1203288623

The season is boring as hell but this was one of the best film years in quite a while.January 16, 2020 at 1:41 pm #1203288116

People just can’t accept the races are over lol
Yup. I think only one with leeway is Renee but good luck correctly predicting who is upsetting her. I’d rather get it wrong with everyone else than throw away a category that everyone is most likely to get correct.January 15, 2020 at 8:23 pm #1203287090
Those were my predictions from like a month ago and I didn’t care enough to update them. The critic’s choice awards are irrelevant anyway. Imagine caring how someone did on the critic’s choice awards.
LOL Imagine not knowing how to predict oscars a month out with SAG and GG noms announced. Imagine complaining about someone bringing up your past predictions when you were calling out someone else for past predictions.January 15, 2020 at 2:15 pm #1203286815
Even after 11 nominations people still claim Joker is divisive. Maybe with SJW journalists (the recent articles have been hilarious btw) but certainly not awards voters. I’m starting to think Joker might actually have the best shot at winning this.
Your inexperience is showing. Nominations and wins are two different ballgames as your own prediction history shows.
