You and your burner account keep saying that but honestly, I haven’t thought about jinxes since… I dunno… fifth grade? Right now, I just want to win my money and Fraser’s the only guy I’ve seen as the favorite through this entire awards season and therefore the only guy I bet on. As far as performances, I thought Fraser sucked. But as far as chances to win the Best Actor Oscar, he’s the guy. Honestly, I’m looking forward to collecting on this and getting back to what I do best: crying and losing money over sports.

I drink a lot, but I am truly baffled as to why Fraser isn’t running away with this. I’ve seen him on a few “secret” ballots and prognosticator lists, but not as much as Butler (or Farrell for that matter). Sure, I preferred Butler and Farrell’s performances to Fraser’s, but his narrative is STRONG, and it has been since his film came out. Hell, BEFORE his film came out people were saying he’d win the Oscar. He gets standing ovations wherever he goes. He’s been the top of Vegas odds for months. He has serious momentum with SAG. Fellow actors love him and everyone in the free world seems to want to hug him. Why is he not running the boards? Are people so married to the idea that he’s sunk without a BP nod behind him? I’ve had him locked in on all of my Oscar betting stances and I am still convinced it’s his to lose… but I don’t get why his fat feet aren’t floating gently on a Quan-like wave of confidence.

If you look at the six “anonymous ballots” listed at the link below, not a single one predicts Butler. In fact, the majority favor Fraser. One voter even says “I can tell you right now Brendan Fraser is going to win.” Does this person know something? Probably not. Does this person even actually exist? Who knows. But does this person reflect my sentiments? Absolutely. My bets are all on Fraser.
