The way she deserved to win for Scenes, I’m pretending both her SAG wins are for that show.
If she wins the Emmy I will pretend it is for Scenes, she was robbed last year(even if I loved Amanda Seyfried’s performance)
ReplyJune 3, 2023 at 4:37 am #1205450775Yeah, it doesn’t matter in the way people think. Also the TV Academy are not a particularly starstruck bunch. They’ve ignored Oscar winners and nominees as often as they’ve gone for them and they can be inconsistent on who they reward in what (some previous nominees go on to be long term favourites and others fail to ever get traction outside of the role they might have been nominated for multiple times).
Chastain last year was the prime example I think, despite being an oscar winner in a HBO show(and with a killer performance too) she ended up being snubbed because limited best actress was that strong.
ReplyJune 2, 2023 at 1:48 pm #1205450391We love to see the arthouse queens coming to rave about the show! Loved how she cited SMG as Buffy and Ehle as Elizabeth Bennett as two of the performances that inspired her to become an actor too.
The way Sarah michelle probably inspired a generation of young actresses with her work as Buffy and yet was never rewarded by the Emmys for it is CRIMINAL.

It really emphasises how much of a powerhouse character actress she is when you hear how shy/timid she is in reality and how for so long she wanted to act without being famous
Even if I did not like Daisy Jones or her performance that much I have to say that she is a very alluring and charming actress. I watched some intreviews and I could not stop looking at her, she oozes charisma despite her being very shy in real life.

Shes doing roundtables, actors on actors with variety. Ive seen like dozens of interviews shes doing. Olsen is campaigning like Michelle Yeoh for the Oscar.
Maybe I am biased because Elizabeth is usually very reserved so every time she releases interviews or does some kind promo does not feel enough lol.

I think she is easily the frontrunner for this very reason too , her campaigning is relentless and According to social reactions from people attending the FYCs events she is beloved. The other contenders really need to step uop their campaign

The first being Camila Morrone, her series was building towards being the emotional arc of the whole by the end. To the point where rumours of a potential S2 have fans not wanting it if she isn’t involved.
Sorry but Morrone’s nomination would be a travesty, she did nothing of worth in Daisy Jones. Pidgeon and Rice(even if her show is awful) are far more worhy of the ingenue spot in my opinion

Still think that Paquin should have got a nod for her work in the first three seasons of true blood. Show Sookie is terribly written compared to the book one but Paquin was amazing with the material given to her and True Blood’s first seasons are High quality Tv
ReplyMay 28, 2023 at 1:05 pm #1205443687In terms of what I’ve counted so far (based on including the limited/movie actress poll I did a couple of months ago and the new entrants since) it seems like we’ll have around 71 submissions in limited/movie actress which would be 10 short of the requirement for 6 slots in the category.
It is going to be a bloodbath..all the contenders really need to campaign hard. Also this means that we had few female leads projects compared to previous emmy seasons..probably this is the reason why limited is so weak this year lol
