Viola will stay in the Lead. Girl won’t resort to cheap tricks unlike lessers. Here for Lupita’s return to Oscars.September 13, 2016 at 9:19 am #1201921700
Emma Stone (Only American Volpi Winner in last 10 years) who has already won over Portman in a major competition and is getting great reviews. Her win would be a tragedy?? (that too) Over unseen competition ??!!
…. Well sometimes people do say things that……..September 12, 2016 at 1:51 pm #1201921133

The fact people are writing off tom hanks is ridiculous Early word is tom hanks is even more amazing in Sully than he was in captain Phillips and his portrayal of ptsd is the best anyone has seen hanks has his third Oscar locked
I have him in my Top 5.
Its the release date (and maybe the Runtime of hmm… 96 minutes ??) that makes people doubtful of the nomination, but if the Box Office and Reviews are good he’ll get in.
Maybe Eckhart will be nominated too, ala Barkhad Abdi and Mark Rylance.August 25, 2016 at 3:14 pm #1201913482
Best Actor category is so barren, even lesser than last year.
As of now it feels Denzel and Viola will sweep the Televised Awards.August 19, 2016 at 1:52 am #1201910402
Jon Favreau, Jungle Book might get in for Best Director as well. HE seems to be well liked within the Industry and JB was heavily praised as a technical feat, something that the Academy goes nuts for in the Best Director Category.[Like the last four Winners.]August 17, 2016 at 7:04 am #1201909136
Parker was invited this very year, wasn’t he? Sadly they consider him a part of the group.
At this point its iffy to suggest where the movie lands come the awards season. Smear Campaigns anyone?? Last year the critics triumphed Spotlight, will they go for This the very next year??
As for the Academy Fences will be more commercial, more prestigious than this.
MOONLIGHT seems like the critics fav that academy goes in for.August 16, 2016 at 11:42 am #1201908584

God I hope so, it’d be such a shame to add her to the list of those who never got to the podium
Depends on the actor. Certain situations are more dire than others. I’m worried about Chastain accepting a supporting actress win just to have an Oscar. I sense that’s where things are going for her and I would hate for that to happen.
Your Senses are going in wrong direction !! Chastain will win in lead, and soon enough. She is just building a more mainstream career.
Also Annette is Hollywood Royalty, She’ll happen when her movie is buzzed enough. Right Now Viola has this in her Bag. Annette can work up a nomination this year and wait until next year with “Film stars don’t die in liverpool.”
Both girls will win in Lead.June 29, 2016 at 11:12 am #1201858635
Nocturnal Animals…. (Amy and Jake!! My most anticipated movie of the year).
The Promise (its in post production so may be not so soon)
I’m also anticipating “Una”June 19, 2016 at 12:52 pm #1201853605
Didn’t like One flew over the cuckoo’s Nest.
Titanic was a better winner than L.A. confidential(good script/bad ending) or Good Will Hunting(less eventful script/amazing Robbin Williams) would have been.
Argo is a good movie with excellent editing.
American Hustle was an okay first time watch but I love that movie after couple of rewatchs.
Jennifer Lawrence deserved her 3 nominations but not the one for Joy (she is an amazing actress).
Sidney Lumet, Billy Wilder and Terrence Malick should feature on more Best directors lists.
Vertigo > Psycho.
Will add more…
