The submissions should be coming out very soon, no?July 5, 2019 at 4:17 pm #1202963433
I think BLOW could definitely score a Rock Performance nomination. Probably won’t get enough support to win it though.June 27, 2019 at 4:37 pm #1202954334
Thom Yorke released his album today, Anima.
I think it has a great shot at getting into Alternative Album.June 26, 2019 at 2:11 pm #1202952815
pop duo will probably look like this
ed sheeran, bruno mars & chris stapleton – blow
jonas brothers – sucker

mark ronson & miley cyrus – nothing breaks like a heart
post malone & swae lee – sunflower
and pop solo
ariana grande – thank u, next
billie eillish – bad guy
lady gaga – always remember us this way
kelly clarkson – broken and beautiful

Dancing with a Stranger and Senorita would get over most of those in Pop Duo.June 23, 2019 at 6:48 pm #1202949141
The Red Dead Redemption 2 Soundtrack is releasing July 12. I think it may have a shot at an AOTY nomination. It’s produced by Daniel Lanois (an 11-time Grammy winner and 3-time AOTY winner) and it’s from one of the biggest games released last year. It features performances from previous Grammy winners like D’Angelo, Rhiannon Giddens and Willie Nelson.June 20, 2019 at 7:18 pm #1202946231
If Lil Nas X gets another hit, he’ll be a lock for a BNA nomination.June 19, 2019 at 12:45 pm #1202944561
No way Billie Eilish will sweep the General Field. I see her only winning Best New Artist right now (as far as the GF goes).June 18, 2019 at 6:30 pm #1202943588
Incredible series. Jerome absolutely deserves a win for Lead Actor, especially because of Episode 4. The fact he was able to play both the teen and adult version of Korey and deliver such a powerful and emotional performance is commendable.
I echo the sentiments that Nash should have been put in Supporting. I think she would have assuredly got in. There were a lot of baffling submissions this year (like Linda Cardellini in Lead instead of Supporting in Comedy Series).
I think DuVernay will win Directing, but Chernobyl will win Series.May 17, 2019 at 7:57 pm #1202898180
I don’t think Carly Rae Jepsen will be nominated. NARAS completely passed her over for her critically acclaimed album E•MO•TION. She didn’t even get a BNA nomination the year Call Me Maybewas released. NARAS is just not too hot on CRJ.May 15, 2019 at 11:03 am #1202895094
“Maybe I’m Crazy” – Dead to MeMay 13, 2019 at 3:59 pm #1202892623
I really do hope Dead to Me gets in to Comedy series. Great show. I think it can get in with Atlanta and Curb not being in the running. Also they can drop GLOW or Kimmy Schmidt.
I think it’s bad move to Cardellini for Lead Actress. She should have been submitted to Supporting Actress. Maximize nominations and not have her compete with Applegate, potentially splitting votes.
Valerie Mahaffey was great and I hope she gets into Guest Actress.May 10, 2019 at 2:51 pm #1202888334
Ari is still the frontrunner for BPVA. P!nk has no chance. She’ll just get her usual nomination. Taylor is her only real competition with Billie Eilish being the spoiler.May 10, 2019 at 2:42 pm #1202888330
Finished it yesterday. Great show with fantastic performances. Applegate and Cardellini absolutely deserve some Emmy love.
It’s a comedy, a dark comedy, but still a comedy.
Outstanding Comedy Series
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series – Christina Applegate
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – Linda Cardellini
Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series
Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series
Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series.April 16, 2019 at 5:16 pm #1202855940
As of right now, I think Ariana has a decent chance at being nominated in the GF, but the stronger the year gets (in the next few month), the less likely it becomes for her to be nominated.
I would say she is a hard lock for an Album of the Year nomination at this point.April 11, 2019 at 6:14 pm #1202848702
Who would’ve though Kacey Musgraves would’ve won AOTY over multiple #1 albums, in a lineup were there was also a folksy white woman; or Childish Gambino and Ariana Grande winning over bigger songs/albums by Grammy darlings. Acclaim is not the only factor, but as DC said, it shows how much an album was liked.
I mean, I predicted it all the way back in June last year.
