I don’t think Carly Rae Jepsen will be nominated. NARAS completely passed her over for her critically acclaimed album E•MO•TION. She didn’t even get a BNA nomination the year Call Me Maybewas released. NARAS is just not too hot on CRJ.May 15, 2019 at 11:03 am #1202895094
“Maybe I’m Crazy” – Dead to MeMay 13, 2019 at 3:59 pm #1202892623
I really do hope Dead to Me gets in to Comedy series. Great show. I think it can get in with Atlanta and Curb not being in the running. Also they can drop GLOW or Kimmy Schmidt.
I think it’s bad move to Cardellini for Lead Actress. She should have been submitted to Supporting Actress. Maximize nominations and not have her compete with Applegate, potentially splitting votes.
Valerie Mahaffey was great and I hope she gets into Guest Actress.May 10, 2019 at 2:51 pm #1202888334
Ari is still the frontrunner for BPVA. P!nk has no chance. She’ll just get her usual nomination. Taylor is her only real competition with Billie Eilish being the spoiler.May 10, 2019 at 2:42 pm #1202888330
Finished it yesterday. Great show with fantastic performances. Applegate and Cardellini absolutely deserve some Emmy love.
It’s a comedy, a dark comedy, but still a comedy.

As of right now, I think Ariana has a decent chance at being nominated in the GF, but the stronger the year gets (in the next few month), the less likely it becomes for her to be nominated.
I would say she is a hard lock for an Album of the Year nomination at this point.April 11, 2019 at 6:14 pm #1202848702
Who would’ve though Kacey Musgraves would’ve won AOTY over multiple #1 albums, in a lineup were there was also a folksy white woman; or Childish Gambino and Ariana Grande winning over bigger songs/albums by Grammy darlings. Acclaim is not the only factor, but as DC said, it shows how much an album was liked.
I mean, I predicted it all the way back in June last year.April 11, 2019 at 5:19 pm #1202848625
Ariana Grande will likely be the first back to back BPVA winner come January.April 10, 2019 at 9:58 am #1202846978
I can’t see Anderson .Paak getting into AOTY. To get into AOTY, rap albums need a big commercial impact or massive critical acclaim, usually both. He barely won his Grammy in a tie. He’ll be relegated to the rap field if anything.April 8, 2019 at 9:29 pm #1202845067
Old Town Road will be #1 on Billboard next week. With it’s crossover appeal with Country and Rap fans (and voters), I’d say it’s a strong contender for a Record of the Year nomination.April 7, 2019 at 3:08 pm #1202843344
Billie is a lock for a nomination and She possibly is the frontrunner to win it.April 5, 2019 at 6:16 pm #1202841712
I can’t see the committee putting Old Town Road in Country even with BRC. It’ll be put in Rap/Sung.April 4, 2019 at 9:00 pm #1202840537
Watch out for Dean Lewis. I can see him snagging nods in Pop Solo, SOTY (for Be Alright) and Best New Artist.April 1, 2019 at 3:06 pm #1202836524
I don’t think ASIB will get an AOTY nomination. It will be largely forgotten about by this year’s nominations. I think it would have surely gotten in had it been released last eligibility period.March 27, 2019 at 2:59 pm #1202831487
They already received backlash for putting Get Out in comedy and Us is even less comedic than Get Out. Some jokes here and there does not make it a comedy film.
That being said, I don’t think Us will get the same awards love that Get Out got. At the Oscars, I think it’ll only get Best Screenplay and Best Actress nods.
