So who officially comes first alphabetically, de Armas or Deadwyler?
January 17, 2023 at 8:19 am #1205249330No guts, no glory, I’m predicting Aftersun in Picture, Actor and Original Screenplay as well. For Director I’m between Wells and Park Chan-wook. I feel like that fifth slot will definitely be a surprise.
January 15, 2023 at 6:58 pm #1205246558Cate Blanchett just shouted out Andrea Riseborough in her Critics Choice speech… oh she’s coming for that Oscar nom
January 15, 2023 at 12:23 pm #1205244838^This bitterness needs to be studied
It’s not really bitterness tbh. I think most people will be happy for Riseborough if she gets nominated, it’s just that the copy/paste messages are hilarious and it’s funny to think about what it’d be like if all these celebrities rallied behind someone who has absolutely no shot of a nomination.
(Also, love her, but Riseborough knocking out Michelle Williams wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world…)
January 15, 2023 at 11:22 am #1205244715Y’all we are all underestimating Pearl here. I mean, Pearl is a small film with a giant heart! Mia Goth gives the performance of the year! Please go find this gem directed by Ti West!
January 14, 2023 at 10:33 pm #1205243612Y’all, Hereditary is a small film with a giant heart. Toni Collette gives the performance of the year, and Alex Wolff, Gabriel Byrne, Milly Shapiro, and Ann Dowd are all incredible. Please go find this gem, directed by Ari Aster!
January 14, 2023 at 9:46 pm #1205243597Have you guys heard?? To Leslie is a small film with a giant heart. Andrea Riseborough gives the performance of the year, and Allison Janney, Marc Maron, Owen Teague, Andre Royo and Stephen Root are all incredible. Please go find this gem, directed by Michael Morris!!! 🙂
Seriously, wtf is going on here?
January 13, 2023 at 10:13 am #1205241241Am I crazy for thinking Gabriel LaBelle has an outside shot? He’s young but he’s the undeniable lead in a top Best Picture contender and that fifth slot seems wide open.
January 11, 2023 at 12:30 pm #1205237260I just have a gut feeling about Park Chan-wook getting in here, idk. The Academy loves nominating international contenders and Decision to Leave was incredibly well directed.
January 11, 2023 at 7:37 am #1205235633Could Jamie Lee Curtis get Catriona Balfe’d in favor of Stephanie Hsu getting in over for Everything Everywhere All At Once? Hsu obviously doesn’t have the prolific history Dench does but I could see JLC losing steam after losing the Globe.
January 8, 2023 at 9:36 am #1205227026I know it has no shot of getting in but I really wish The Batman was making more noise this awards season. Truly one of the best, most cinematic comic book movies of the last few years. It’s crazy to me how Joker made so much noise a few years ago and yet The Batman (which I believe is better in just about every way) has been getting paid dust in all the major categories.
