I just watched Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and it wa pretty great especially Elizabeth Olsen. She somehow managed to top her Performance in Wandavision which I didn’t think was possible and yet she managed to do it. She had such great material and had lots of epic moments. Even when she is making these terrible decisions and hurting innocent people I still feel pity and Sadness for Wanda and that’s a testament to Elizabeth Olsens magnetic Performance. She managed to simultaneously be scary and heartbreaking and she deserves recognition and to be remembered come awards season especially at the Oscar’s where they should embrace more performances like hers.

I want to go to there!

Heres to one of the greatest comedies going out just as it came in with utter brilliance, this show was truly one of a kind thanks to the singular vision of Pamela Adlon.

In a just world she would be winning!
ReplyApril 19, 2022 at 5:45 pm #1204924228I went into watching this with low expectations because of all the reactions I’ve been reading about how terrible the show and actors were. I was surprised I actually enjoyed it. Dont get me wrong the show definitely has its problems, but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I thought Michelle Pfeiffer was phenomenal and owned the screen whenever she was on and Gillian Anderson was pretty great as well as Elanor Roosevelt. Viola Davis was easily the weakest for me which hurts me to even write. Davis was just not believable as Obama and I was greatly distracted by her lips. I hope Davis gets better later on so she can be on par with Anderson and Pfieffer.

While some of the Jokes have not aged well this show is still one of the greatest comedies of all time with all the actors bringing their a-game but none more than Jane Krakowski. I will never understand how she didnt win at least one Emmy when she should have been winning every year.

I would probably nominate them both in Best Actress but obviously they will put Hsu in Supporting. Does anyone else feel like Hsu is very much a lead as well or am I on my own in that thought.
April 12, 2022 at 5:04 pm #1204914827I just watched Everything Everywhere All at Once and it was a fucking masterpiece and a half. What a Brilliant film that was simultaneously dramatic, funny, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and so many other edge on your seat adjectives. This is the Daniels vision and it is Unbelievable and so immensely immersive that you get lost in all its brilliance. Michelle Yeoh somehow managed to top herself with what is her best performance. She is mean, scary, loving and so many other things. She needs to be remembered and recognized come award season. Ke Huy Quan was amazing and had so much heart and soul with all his different versions and needs to be recognized too. Jamie Lee Curtis was just as good she was an amazing antagonist to Michelle and they oozed chemistry off the screen. But my favourite performer was Stephanie Hsu who delivered a star making Performance. She was broken, beaten and blue and she played her character so deliberately and delicately and deliciously and she needs to be recognized just as much as Yeoh and Quan. I would love to see this as a contender for across the board nominations especially for Yeoh, Quan and Hsu who all not only deserve to be nominated but deserve to win. And if things go good maybe we can see either Yeoh or Hsu winning because they deliver iconic performances in an already iconic movie and will be remembered for years to come. I dont know how anyone can top this movie this year. This has already become one of my favourites of all time and I can’t wait to rewatch it so I can relive its brilliance all over again.

I would love to see her get nominated for an Emmy and if I’m being honest I would give her a win for the meltdown episode she had it was fantastic to watch. Patricia Arquette is my second favourite performer on the show with only being beaten by Britt Lower as my favourite.

I agree season two was a let down and Waddingham only had the funeral episode where she actually did something while the rest of the seaosn she was just on her phone. Temple and Goldstein are deserving of wins this time around.

At least Fiona Shaw was amazing in the finale even with her Killing villanelle for no apparent reason, Shaw stil sold me on it and hopefully can be in contention for the Emmy even if it was terrible writing and a disaster ending but nowhere near as bad as the finale of Game of Thrones which was on a whole other level of terrible.
ReplyApril 1, 2022 at 11:24 am #1204893065After watching the first three episodes of Pachinko I liked the show but not loved it. The fourth episode changed all that. This episode made me love the show. This episode was not only the best episode of Pachinko but also one of the best hours of Television I’ve ever seen. I had goosebumps after witnessing this masterpiece. The entire cast was on fire but non more so than Kim Min Ha and the actress who plays the land owner who refuses the offer (I’m not sure what her name is). They were both just so heartbreaking and this should easily win them both Emmmys. I cannot wait for the next episode.
March 26, 2022 at 11:59 am #1204877375Does anyone have any thoughts on what acting categories the cast of Pachinko will be submitted in. After watching the first two episodes I would say the Jin Ha and Min-Ha Kim are leads and everyone else is Supporting, but obviously my thoughts in this can change considering that the show just started.
