Christine Baranski is just never gonna get in I’ve come to accept it I don’t think Micheal Sheen will help her that much and with AHS in the mix…October 16, 2018 at 10:13 pm #1202654248
- Amy Adams
- Claire Foy
- Regina King
- Emma Stone
- Rachel Weisz
I could see Adams and Weisz not making it though. Adams was snubbed for Arrival, so it wouldn’t surprise me. If they don’t make it, I think Kidman is definitely in and maybe Spacek or Portman. I don’t think Robbie is getting in without Ronan getting into lead, which I don’t think will happen. This movie is premiering way too late. What a shame.
I think Adams snub for arrival had more to do with vote splitting between Arrical and Nocturnal Animals that year.October 16, 2018 at 10:11 pm #1202654246
I guess one major issue is that times are different, so I don’t see the Academy falling in love with the character of Mary Poppins to that level. Maybe if Mary has a mental breakdown AND joins a cult midway through movie she might be nominated.
*EDIT* Nostalgia factor may come and bite me in the ass, voters can be whimsical little creatures.
This is the funniest thing I have read, and it’s quite true. I don’t think she will be nominated for this role but then again Meely Streep may attact enough attention to the film. I defiantly could see her winning comedy musical golden globe due to the fact lady Gaga is competing drama.October 12, 2018 at 4:00 pm #1202651640
If a Rachel Weiz and the Favorite blow up which I think it will. Could Rachel Mcadams get a supporting nod for Disobedience?September 11, 2018 at 8:03 pm #1202629909
Is no one considering Emma Thompson for The Children’s Act. I didn’t see her name in the prediction center?? And did she give a no holds Barr performanceSeptember 11, 2018 at 6:30 am #1202629416

WTF they totally screwed over Kirby and Strahovski with those clips. Yet MBB still is the worst. Based of clips …

Not sure how significant it will be but Netflix is doing individual screenings in their FYSEE for David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown’s submissions. Going all out.
Brown’s submission isn’t that good so it won’t help her. At least IMO
Literally every single nominee in supporting actresss would win before MBB. Her presence in that category is a travesty and frankly an insult to the other nomineesAugust 14, 2018 at 8:27 pm #1202609550

TVLine poll means nothing. Keri Russle is a definite contender but Sandra Oh and Tatiana Maslany is not ahead of Claire Foy and Elizabeth MossAugust 14, 2018 at 7:16 pm #1202609520

Vennssa Kirby or Yvonne Strahovski I just can’t pick.August 14, 2018 at 7:06 pm #1202609516
I feel like there is a lot of support for Strahovski I wouldn’t be surprised if she won. I think it between her and Kirby.
Matt Smith is a freaking lead and calling him supporting is just stupid but putting that aside he is in my opinion the best or Peter Dinklage (but I think his time is over). I don’t really get the David Harbor thing mabey last year but his submission was just kinda meh.
On the comedy side I love Leslie Jones to pieces but I don’t get her nomination I think Cecile Strong would have been a better option but then again I find it annoying that all of these SNL people are in this category. I think it’s between Kate McKinnon and Megan Mullally. I will say that I get the argument about Lack Luster support for Will and Grace but did you see the first couple episodes. They were rough and I am the biggest fan on the planet. But to me Mullally being nominated means that she over came those episodes.
For Supporting actor comedy all I’m gonna say is Tony Shalhoub!!!!August 5, 2018 at 4:44 pm #1202603192
I voted for Foy. I just wanted to add that I don’t think these two are extraordinary performances; I think both are very good, that’s all. They would make good winners but not memorable ones. I thought Foy raised her level in season 2 and found her overall more convincing than Kirkby.
You either haven’t seen the series or are just plain dumb. Like not to bash your opinion but if either wins they will be very memorable wins because both careers are on steroids right now and the level of skill they bring to their craft is just astounding
