Apparently DAYS submitted for Writing the same submission they did for the Writer’s Guild Award, which they won.
ReplyMay 12, 2023 at 11:49 am #1205427719Cary Christopher’s reel is strong…I don’t care his age, that reel puts him as a threat to win in Younger Performer.
ReplyMay 12, 2023 at 11:45 am #1205427716You are allowed to submit if you turn 18 during the year, but ONLY material up to that point can be in your reel.

ReplyApril 5, 2023 at 2:52 pm #1205379325I think it goes without saying that DAYS is the litmus test for how well daytime drama’s will do on streaming platforms. This renewal, along with the success of the two spin-offs and Christmas movie, shows just how successful the transition has been for DAYS and PEACOCK. No doubt the other networks are paying attention and planning for the future for their shows as well. I fully expect Y&R/B&B to be on Paramount+ and GH on Disney+/Hulu within the next 2-5 years.
ReplyMarch 16, 2023 at 2:55 pm #1205354588Days has apparently been in their Top 5 and Top 3 since the move from NBC (confirmed by several cast members) as well and is a big part of PEACOCKS subscription increase in the last quarter of 2022.
Days continues to be a trailblazer in the daytime drama industry, being the first soap opera to successfully transition from broadcast to streaming, the other 3 soaps will be streaming by the end of the decade.
ReplyMay 13, 2022 at 1:44 pm #1204951256I don’t see it mentioned but John Aniston (Victor, DAYS) will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Emmy this year.
LONG overdue!
ReplyMay 12, 2022 at 11:54 am #1204950203Arianne Zucker chose the breakup scene with Eric for her reel.
Lindsay Arnold submitted the hypnotized/remembering the rape by Charlie in London scenes.
James Reynolds submitted the 40th anniversary episode.
They all submitted extremely good scenes!
DAYS actors submitted perfectly!
ReplyMay 10, 2022 at 11:17 am #1204948322Marcy Miller submitted perfectly. The confrontation scene with Gwen and subsequent breakup scene with Chad, was incredible work by her, her best material since joining the show. She is a threat for the win if this is what she submitted.
ReplyMay 10, 2022 at 11:13 am #1204948314The nominations for Stacy Haiduk in Supporting Actress and Eric Martsolf in Lead Actor with both using the same reel indicated these scenes resonated quite well with the scoring committees for both of these categories.
ReplyMay 10, 2022 at 11:10 am #1204948311Fun predictions!
I just want to note that winners for all of these awards have already been determined in the same round of voting that determined nominees and that voting was conducted using a scoring system rather than a ranking system or selecting a single winner. So multiple nominees in an area more likely represents strong support rather than the possibility of having split votes, not that that makes any of these particularly easy to predict!
The scoring system, verse ranking, is why DAYS leading the major nominations, with BS scoring big nominations, shows the show submitted well and had strong support this year.
ReplyMay 5, 2022 at 3:59 pm #1204943470Can someone explain to me why Beyond Salem didn’t get any acting nominations? Was it eligible? Also, this may not be good for it and Days because they both could very well cancel each other out in Drama Series.
I would argue that the fact BEYOND SALEM (even knocking B&B out of Drama/Writing) made it in for the entire trifecta, along with DAYS bodes very well for both shows and shows that they are both strong. DAYS is leading the pack of major nominations and those usually bode well for wins and where overall support is going based on the picks for the reels.
ReplyMay 5, 2022 at 3:55 pm #1204943468Last I heard was that any currently airing actors/actresses could not submit for both DAYS and BEYOND SALEM if they played the same characters on the show (same if they played that character during the year at any time on the main show), they had to pick one or the other and I believe Corday Productions has full control of that process and who was entered for what. DAYS used to have a totally hands off system, but now most of the shows Emmy submissions, picks ect are totally handled by the show.
I believe some of the BEYOND SALEM actors who were not on the main show, could have submitted only in Guest as they were not airing long enough to quality for the main categories. I am a bit surprised more didn’t end up in the Guest category, but that is a very bloated category to begin with.
