Ok but Gucci is giving me MAJOR Bohemian Rhapsody vibes right now. I see its audience appeal + star power coasting it to a BP nod plus Gaga could be Rami Malek and win Actress now that Stewart is (likely) done.

I know it’s got a Rotten rating, and I know a fair amount of people would be upset.
With that said, I can genuinely see a narrative for Don’t Look Up to win Best Picture. Not only is it one of the only contenders to drum up genuine interest and conversation with the general public, but it also has a ton of proven industry support. Adam McKay’s brand is practically bulletproof at this point with these bodies. I know it won’t be easy in any way, but if more and more reasons for frontrunners like TPOTD or WSS or LP keep piling up, I could see DLU racking up enough #1 votes to take it all the way.
I absolutely cannot wait to feel like a giant dumbass in the next month.January 5, 2022 at 7:11 pm #1204699398Ok I know it’s a huge long-shot, but am I crazy for thinking Flee could still get the 10th slot? Because if the film has enough support from the animation, documentary and international branches to get nominated in all three (which it probably will), what’s stopping that passion from spilling over into Best Picture?
December 26, 2021 at 2:32 pm #1204680229A hell of a lot more animated films, especially since Up & Toy Story 3 both got in super easy in years of 10. No reason why something like Ratatouille or WALL-E couldn’t have been 7th or 8th in their respective years.
