Just because I was hate watching this movie for the hundredth time because it is AMAZING: how awesome would it be if Oscar’s tumor storyline took a Book of Henry turn?December 14, 2018 at 10:34 am #1202701311
I was genuinely surprised none of the songs from Milan got nominated especially considering the roll Disney was on in the 90s.December 12, 2018 at 7:45 am #1202698935
Has there ever been a category in the history of SAG where more nominees are supporting than lead? Comedy Actor has Arkin, Shalhoub and Winkler.
It happened in this category all the time: 95-98 and again from 2000-2001. Most recently it happened in 2010 and 2011.December 12, 2018 at 7:26 am #1202698843
The SAG doesn’t have time to watch much TV these days I’m guessing? It’s mostly the same shows in the main categories.December 11, 2018 at 2:59 pm #1202698201
I would have been happy with either Burnett or White. Betty is one of the last figures who was around in the pre-WWII days but Carol was a groundbreaker in that women often weren’t considered to headline variety shows in those days. All in all it’s fitting to have this separate as it seemed they always considered only film people for the DeMille award.

Michael Caine was stranded in the Bahamas by a hurricane when he won for Hannah and Her Sisters. Many people in the 60s and 70s declined to attend as most didn’t live in LA and were often on Broadway or filming abroad at the time. International or cross country travel being as difficult as it was (It would require 3-4 days off and most producers would not grant an absence that long as it was detrimental to their financial interests.) at that time, and with the Academy no longer holding a concurrent ceremony in New York, fewer attendees were going to be present in LA or on television.December 10, 2018 at 1:26 pm #1202697055
Well then the award should be Best Acting in a Recurring Role not a Guest role then.December 6, 2018 at 9:38 pm #1202692107
NBC had an out because the Golden Globes had broken FCC rules regarding fairness of competition. ABC won’t have that out as the integrity of the awards aren’t in question.December 6, 2018 at 5:13 pm #1202691946
I really liked Port Charles the first year or so (even though it was hard to find given my affiliate) but it got really bad when Debbi Morgan left and there was less focus on the med students. I also never really got what Kevin and Lucy were doing in that show.December 6, 2018 at 9:21 am #1202691416
Also can we throw Dark Shadows on this list? I watched the early 90s primetime reboot as a kid and caught a lot of episodes on as Sci Fi. The lousy Tim Burton movie aside, I’d love for a reboot.December 6, 2018 at 9:20 am #1202691415
I was the first vote for Passions just because it was so ridiculous that I could eat it up. I mean come on, they tried to get a monkey nominated for an Emmy!December 2, 2018 at 10:40 am #1202687362
Kiki came in in summer of 2013 when they transitioned those OLTL actors to new roles. Hayley Erin took over the role in early 2015 and yeah. At the beginning, it was…not good.November 30, 2018 at 12:28 pm #1202686124
Fun Fact: Robin Strasser’s middle name is “Victory in Europe” on account of her being born on VE Day.
