Did anybody else see this ? This guy is really talentedFebruary 20, 2019 at 1:35 pm #1202782955
Crhapsody will not win. That horrid GG win was already way too muchFebruary 20, 2019 at 1:09 pm #1202782917
These ballots don’t mean shit anyway. Several of these voters actually chose Black Panther for BP and Grant for Supp Actor, neither of which will actually happenFebruary 20, 2019 at 1:07 pm #1202782915
They rarely stand up for the supporting categories but usually does for both leads.
They did stand up for your girl tho. Every black woman got a standing ovation this decade (well Mo’Nique got a semi one at least) so King will probably get one too if she winsFebruary 20, 2019 at 9:34 am #1202782588
Did Ali physically attack a BAFTA executive like Crowe did ? Was he even problematic in any way ?
Grant will not be the big upset of this seasonFebruary 20, 2019 at 8:30 am #1202782519
I don’t see how people still doubt Glenn’s win especially with the way she perfectly calculated her speeches and statements. In the span of two minutes at the Globes she reminded people that she has been acting for 45 years, that this profession was her “personal fulfilment” and also slid a little “believe in yourself” inspirational message. Not to mention the way she (wisely) sucked up to the voters at SAG by starting her speech with “I’m so proud to be in this union”
Members here love talking about “whoring yourself out”. Well that’s what she did, and she did it like a pro. And she will be rewarded for it in a few days after 30 years of waiting.

https://www.goldderby.com/article/2019/secret-oscar-voter-ballot-exposed-vice-glenn-close-regina-king/amp/?__twitter_impression=true Actor: Bale. Actress: Glenn. S. Actor: Grant. S. Actress: King. BP: Vice. This Oscar ballot for BP has Vice, The Favourite and Green Book at the first 3 places.
Funny how this voter chose Vice for BP, BD and BA yet went for King in Sup ActressFebruary 20, 2019 at 7:59 am #1202782485
What idiot would vote for Stone? A win for her here would cause unfair push back.
the same idiots who voted for Lawrence in 2014 as if her winning a 2nd Oscar so quickly wasn’t career suicide

all 4 of them chose King and 3/4 Colman (the other chose McCarthy)
2/4 picked Black Panther (the other two Roma)
Spike Lee is also getting some supportFebruary 20, 2019 at 7:52 am #1202782475
https://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/la-en-mn-oscars-ballots-how-they-voted-20190213-story.html The director is Sofia Coppolla I think.
All 4 of them voting for Regina, woo
but these few ballots out of thousands do not mean muchFebruary 20, 2019 at 3:37 am #1202782341
Roma will probably get the most #1 votes but also tons of #8 (though not as many as Crhapsody and Lice)
I just hope it doesn’t get La La Land’dFebruary 20, 2019 at 3:34 am #1202782340
Glenn’s victory will be a huge moment
King got a surprising standing ovation at the Emmys (those are very rare there) but I don’t see it happening at the Oscars. Remember that nobody stood up for Janney except RobbieFebruary 19, 2019 at 3:20 pm #1202781852
Netflix hiring the children of Miramax is paying off well
Damn, this is on another level
I’m a Roma supporter but Netflix is doing the most. They’re soo thirsty for that “1st streaming service to win Best Picture, the future of cinema” headline. At this point they have no choice but winning otherwise it’d be embarassing

Just now realising the irony how First Man ($102m on $44m budget) and Widows ($75m on a $42m budget) were shut out of the BP conversation because of their “box office flop” factor, despite the fact they actually done better than Vice has ($55m on a $60m budget)
And both had waaay better reviews as well. The bias is real
