Why do you y’all think the Grammys are going to nominate a soundtrack again? Nominating them is not common. Unless the ASIB franchise holds up long after the award season and Lion King becomes this gigantic thing that is undeniable, there’s no reason to bet that either of them will be heavily nominated. ASIB already got its due this year with those ROTY and SOTY.
Personally I’m sure if a soundtrack would be nominated, I’m just going of appeal for many of these artists like aforementioned.

The truth is on these boards most posted don’t learn anything after an awards show. They still pick who they want to win instead of who is most likely to win regardless of Grammy history. So the answer to the title of the thread is NOTHING.
What Grammy history? Kacey and Dua won as usual. The only one that won this year that was special was Childish Gambino win for hip hop. That was momental for the academy. So saying that we didn’t look at Grammy history, while Kacey won AOTY is bullshit from you lol.

I feel only one Soundtrack will probably make the nominations. Whether it is Lady Gaga’s A Star is Born or Childish Gambino and Beyoncé’s Lion King Soundtracks. I think maybe it’s the Lion King because maybe Gaga would like to push her album if it’s good enough to make AOTY.

Lmao the rating went up by very little that last year. Both years a listers decided not to go after that Beyonce bullshit. I wouldn’t celebrate for too long. A type of mentality is what the Grammys has right now.

You guys do realize that Ariana can get moms and still lose them right? People in this thread are delusional in they way the act saying Ariana isn’t gonna get nominations! If she can get nominations for her worst album you better damn well believe she will get noms for her best album, TUN
Honestly! It’s not like she’s fucking Florida Georgia Line or Lil Xan. She’s the only main pop star who is pushing pop further with trap beats and spacey setting. Its far an away her best album yet hands down. Her album is gonna sell pretty decent. It’s not the end of the world if she gets the general field noms. It’s well deserved. If she does not that’s fine, just like put some respect on her name.

This proves how irrelevant some BNA winners are in the scope of things.

Publicly fighting with a legendary Grammy telecast producer and refusing to attend the Grammys (despite winning for the first time) is going to send a bad taste in voters’ mouths when it comes to next year’s nominations. Also, her stunt at shading Cardi B bc her ex didn’t win Rap Album… leading to social media attacks at Cardi will also be remembered. Her album is very popular at the moment, but this is the beginning of the year… and Ariana has acted like an immature brat when it’s come to the Recording Academy. I don’t see voters truly embracing Thank U, Next. Expect a nomination or two in Pop Vocal Album and Solo. If she didn’t get into the General Field this year, she won’t next year (after her behavior and public disdain towards the Grammys). The good news??? For all you Ariana fans… she’s made it clear that she doesn’t care about the Grammys, so you shouldn’t either when she isn’t nominated in the top categories next year.
She doesn’t care about the Grammys because the people see likes doesn’t win. I just don’t like the disrespect this album gets. It’s her best work. I didn’t like Pharrel Williams production on it. But it’s her most cohesive and introspective work. It bigger than her other works. It’s better than her other works, some in thouget were a bit cliche or inconsistent. But again you can’t make everybody happy. When Kacey or Gambino won this year, everybody was like “Who?” or “That wasn’t a good song”. That’s fine if you don’t like it idrc. But just you can’t deny how big Ariana is right now. If they embraced Cardi B and Post, they certainly can embrace Ariana lol. Whether you factor her comments to the Recording Academy, or not, she’s having a big year for herself.

It will flop. She’s just benefiting from the hype. She’ll always have nice debuts, then her sales will plummet. I appreciate ariana stans effort to spend hours digging deep in the archive to find receipts though. Sweetener is far behind Scorpion, TGS, B&Bs and many other albums released much sooner than her’s. Her albums don’t have longevity.
Drake won the same amount of Grammys this year as Ariana. If all you are going by sales reputation would have been in AOTY. But it wasnt. It’s never been about sales. It’s been about number ones an album has had. Plus, again, Thank U, Next is better than Sweetner by a landslide. I dare all of yall to come at me for saying otherwise.

Releasing a new album few months after a flop album is the worst thing to do trying to remedy the issue. It’ll probably flop too. The teasers she shared on twitter are bad too. She should take her time and focus on making something good.
let’s not forget about this message. Don’t judge anything until it has come out.

Get real! Ariana Grande is NOT getting ROTY, AOTY, SOTY, or Best Music Video noms.
Why is that? Point to another album that is way bigger and better than this one. She has the biggest album in a long time with more than 1 number one. Personally it’s way better than sweetner. Thank U Next has quotable lyrics and I will never forget the first time I heard the song, so . Plus she should submit the song for best music because why not? It’s not like shes gonna win. But I wouldn’t complain if she was nominated.

Honey, “Shallow” lost ROTY & SOTY. Get over it!
For real. Its not like it’s inventing the wheel or anything. Lady Gaga was awarded last night with 3 grammys. Although we are all going to remember now how Donald Glover looked iconic in the video and the conversation it created that transcends the musical world.

Who do you guys think will drop someone music for the big 4? Right now I have Rihanna, The Weekend, Chance the Rappper, Childish Gambino, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Vampire Weekend, the 1975, SZA, Grimes, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Tame Impala, The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West, Solange, Kendrick Lamar, and Adele. These are just speculation and wish to see them get nominated somewhere.
