I don’t know why, but I really love “Clocks” by Coldplay. It’s been my among my very favorites for a long time. Also, “Tearing Me Up” by Bob Moses and “Pink + White” by Frank Ocean, much more recent releases.March 14, 2019 at 7:01 pm #1202817008
I just feel it’s too soon. It feels like she has a million singles out at the moment, but I guess “break up” never really took off. Although I am starting to hear it get actual radio play. Even waiting 2 weeks could make a big difference in my mind (the downside to that being that she wouldn’t have a platform like an awards show to announce).
But I’m still happy. “needy” is a really great song.March 11, 2019 at 4:47 pm #1202812887

When?March 7, 2019 at 3:08 am #1202807385
Adele won’t stop from submitting to the GF just because Beyoncé’s there. The BRP would probably block her from AOTY if Beyoncé’s album sells incedibly well.
And they’ll nominate a bunch of other R&B/Rap albums, and she’ll lose again. Unless they understand vote-splitting.March 6, 2019 at 1:16 pm #1202806375
I wished Gaga submitted Shallow for the 62nd Grammy awards, because if she did, she would of won ROTY and SOTY for Shallow, and possibly even win AOTY for the ASIB soundtrack.
I think “Shallow” was so successful due to the hype of awards season. It now has the #1, and that memorable Oscars performance, but it’s very possible that it won’t be as present in voters’ minds as it has been for the past few months. Those other factors won’t offset that.March 5, 2019 at 7:31 pm #1202805306
Honey, this is shaping up to be another shitty year in music. Even worse than last year. BARF!
Really? Based on who seems to be releasing later on in the year, I’m quite optimistic. I’ve already been enjoying some of this year’s works quite a bit.March 3, 2019 at 6:38 pm #1202802844
“Thank U, Next” will only possibly win Pop Album cuz none of the songs can be considered phenomenal in terms of music ,not popularity.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but are you saying she won’t win for either reason? I honestly think both quality and popularity will help her. It just depends on her presence throughout the year, and of course, we haven’t heard all the competition.
I think that fact she won this year may have a slight impact, but voters may not care.March 3, 2019 at 5:31 am #1202801989
Apparently Big Machine has sent Getaway Car to Radio….? I highly doubt it’s her decision given how we are on the cusp of a new era and she’s has a new record deal, probably Big Machine trying to milk her music for the last time. If she really wanted another single it would’ve come out almost 6 months ago, when Delicate started fading away.March 1, 2019 at 5:19 pm #1202800802
Is it just me or Please Me is really underperforming? Especially for a song from Bruno and Cardi?
It debuted in the top 5 this week, and I was expecting worse honestly. I agree though, it doesn’t feel like it’s taken off yet. I doubt it’s run is over, and I think it’ll gain some steam.February 26, 2019 at 2:59 am #1202795318
If there is a new single, should we make a new thread? This one’s very long already and will get worse with another era.February 24, 2019 at 6:22 pm #1202789789
Would any of this be happening if not for the Globes? Goodness
