People have not yelled at me for not watching a show this much since Breaking Bad.
I guess I gotta start it…October 8, 2019 at 6:36 am #1203127358
It’s gonna be Taylor. Drake had his moment in the second half of the decade, but mostly with streaming. Streaming wasn’t counted as highly int he first half of the decade, so I think single and album sales will be more important.October 7, 2019 at 2:35 pm #1203126365
Lizzo quietly sent Good as Hell to radio after the cutoff date for this year’s show. If it’s eligible and keeps rising up the charts (It’s at 28 this week), watch out for it.October 7, 2019 at 10:49 am #1203125972
Wouldn’t “The Farewell” screenplay be under adapted instead of original? Is the screenplay credited as an adaptation to the This American Life podcast episode?October 6, 2019 at 8:23 pm #1203124830
Barry is too inconsistent for me. The tonal shifts don’t work all the time. Especially that first season. Ira much better when it’s a drama.

JLo can only win if they get some other oscar noms for “Hustlers”. If she is the only nomination for “Hustlers”, no way is she winning. I’m rooting for Nai Nai from “The Farewell”!!!October 2, 2019 at 12:29 pm #1203117841
GOT has a better shot than Veep to get nominated in their show category.
That being said they both don’t have a good shot at all. I can see Peter Dinklage and Maisie Williams getting in before the show for best drama.September 30, 2019 at 8:24 am #1203113599
Lizzo is the kind of singer that the Grammys go for. I still think Billie Eillish is winning at least one Grammy. The industry/media is so obsessed with her. She’s still the talk of the town. The old school rock guys and pop people seem to be on her side.
Lizzo has a better shot at winning more Grammys (urban contemporary album, pop solo, SOTY), but she’ll probably be shut out of BNA. No doubt she’ll have the performance of the night.September 28, 2019 at 8:42 am #1203110115
The Highwomen have so much industry/media support. Their album isn’t eligible, but look out for a surprise SOTY nomSeptember 20, 2019 at 12:27 pm #1203089173
Nick offerman never won an Emmy OR a GD award for playing Ron Swanson.
We should change that.
FYC: Parks and Recreation in all categories.September 19, 2019 at 12:54 pm #1203087087
We plan to launch the Gold Derby TV Decade Awards on Friday morning. You’ll have about three weeks to vote on nominations in 30 categories. Each candidate must have either been an Emmy nominee and/or Gold Derby Awards nominee. These lists have taken about 3 months to assemble and enter, and it’s a great walk through your memories of this past 10 years!
Are miniseries turned drama series going to be in what categories?
Are big little lies and downtown abbey going to be in drama or limited?September 18, 2019 at 10:51 am #1203084638
Headey won with GD for the seasons she deserved it. She had no material this past season.
On the record, I defended the last season of GOT up until the finale. I don’t hate it winning, because it would’ve been my second choice (after Pose).
I’m surprised that Christie and Williams didn’t split. None of them are winning on Sunday. I’m going with Shaw.
