Why would you be surprised the most nominated woman EVER at the Grammys happens to be….nominated for a few more Grammys. It is what it is. The most respected mainstream artist out there.November 5, 2019 at 12:57 pm #1203167301
Ruth Negga absolutely deserved her nomination. I remember when she got nominated, the racism displayed in these forums was disgusting. It even went so far as to a certain user purposely misspelling her last name and making it into a racial slur. He literally called her Ruth Neggar multiple times.August 15, 2019 at 6:14 am #1203024867
Its official! “The Lion King” has officially dethroned “Frozen” as the most commercially successful animated film of ALL TIME!!
Nice!! It’s deserved.July 18, 2019 at 11:09 pm #1202984481
This album is actually pretty astonishing.July 18, 2019 at 5:05 am #1202982567
Beyoncé is def winning 1 or 2 of these awards. She’ll be halfway to her EGOT.
If you’re talking about the Beyonce special (and, by TV, you mean the main broadcast), then, based on the Academy’s past history, the answer appears to be, “None of them will be.” Keep in mind that the two nights of the Creative Arts ceremony will be edited into a two-hour broadcast on FXX on 9/21.
It’s also possible that they might decide to move the Variety Special Writing and/or Directing categories to the main broadcast, in part because Beyonce is nominated. We probably won’t know this until September. (Normally, Variety Special Writing & Directing are part of the main ceremony in even-numbered years, and Variety Series Writing & Directing are in odd-numbered years.)
The last time she was nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, they moved it to the main broadcast. She just happened to not show up.
I’m sure they’ll do the same this year.July 16, 2019 at 11:07 am #1202978662
It’s funny how some people said homecoming was forgotten but yet it just got 6 whole Emmy nominations. Goes to show that this forum is full of stans who have negative bias towards Beyoncé. She’s definitely going to win an Emmy. Which means that she’ll stay on the awards radar until October. Which is when Grammy voters start filling out ballots and by the time the Grammy nominations come out she’ll probably get nominated for a Golden Globe. And Grammy and globe nominations will definitely help towards her getting an Oscar nomination. Who knows if she’ll win But Beyonce is definitely going to have a big year.
Exactly. Beyoncé has been on a roll this year and all the acclaim and hype she’s getting is just from side projects.
Homecoming will definitely be on the Grammys radar due to the immense acclaim and industry respect. Even if it doesn’t get an AOTY nom, she’s bound to win 2-3 Grammys with these lil side projects. Not to mention, she’s bound to get an Emmy this year too for that SAME project.February 12, 2017 at 3:11 pm #1202009316
Yes @ Solange! Knew she’d take it.February 4, 2017 at 12:01 pm #1202002875
I could see Solange taking this. It’s the most acclaimed and important song in the category. And Solange herself had an amazing year being the 2nd most acclaimed female artist of 2016, after Beyoncé.
Ro James winning would be great too, but he’s probably in 5th place.February 3, 2017 at 10:15 am #1202002329
Funny thing is I don’t like Beyoncé because of her fans, not because of her work as an artist.
Her fans are so full of shit, talking about her like she is about to find a cure for cancer. Grow up, bitches.
Nobody gives a fuck why a miserable internet troll like you doesn’t like Beyoncé or her fans. They’re not going to stop defending her because of a weirdo, dummy like you.January 24, 2017 at 1:03 pm #1201994378
Nope. Critics love production as much as lyrics.
I thought many critics specifically pointed out that the production was either over-produced or unnecessary. I’ll try to find some examples.
The lyrics, however, got unanimous applause. Unless your first name is Tomi…………………………………….. ????
Formation is critically acclaimed for its lyrics, production, message and delivery.
You don’t get the most critically acclaimed song of 2016 if critics think the production is unnecessary or overdone.January 24, 2017 at 9:23 am #1201994155
Work is 4th place at best. Probably 5th, however.January 20, 2017 at 6:25 pm #1201991662
Beyoncé has only performed one medley of Lemonade so I don’t know what some people are talking about.
Anyway, I hope she does a medley. I’m sure the Grammys will give her as much time as she wants.January 14, 2017 at 2:25 pm #1201987743
She’s Beyonce’s sister & has the best song among nominees, so she has a chance ????
This is true. I wouldn’t be surprised at a Solange upset considering her immense buzz and being the most critically acclaimed song in the batch of nominees.
Being the sister of one of the biggest Grammy darlings ever doesn’t hurt either.January 12, 2017 at 5:53 pm #1201986784
This hopefully can give Beyoncé a few extra votes https://twitter.com/black_ishabc/status/819617579425595392
This has been getting a lot of buzz as being one of their best episodes ever (and an amazing episode of TV in general) and an Emmy contender. Don’t know what this means for the Grammys but Lemonade’s cultural relevance alone is incredible and voters would be silly not to recognize.December 27, 2016 at 6:08 pm #1201975877
Shoulda, coulda, woulda.
Bowie was never a Grammy favorite. He only has one award to his name for a music video, so no, there’s no conspiracy to help Beyoncé win the award (as if Lemonade isn’t already more acclaimed and commercially successful than Blackstar).
And Radiohead just happened to not be nominated this time. Sometimes shit like that happens…That also has nothing to do with Beyoncé.
