Considering what a huge year Lil Nas X had, I’m shocked that cmbyn wasn’t in the top 10 in Record but was in Song. I predicted it to miss Song but make Record so the fact that the opposite was going to happen is crazy. He probably should submitted Industry Baby to Record instead. Lucky for him that the category expanded to 10 nominees lmao.
same, but with this info Montero was probably #8 for SOTY, and then #9 for ROTY (so not that off)! either way with this info we know he’s not likely winning in the GF this time around
also im surprised Montero didn’t make it into Pop Solo, like I knew he’d miss BPVA but that song was a huge pop momentNovember 26, 2021 at 12:31 pm #1204608051
I still see Kiss Me More with high chance of winning BPDGP but I agree Doja needs to campaign harderNovember 26, 2021 at 12:27 pm #1204608043
Ariana is a pop darling and perennial nominee. She will have to absolutely flop to miss and even then, Kelly and P!nk still show up from time to time with their efforts. Queens
when I said Ariana wasn’t missing BPVA, her and Justin are literally household names in that category at this point. Even Taylor missed. If they release a standard basic pop era, they’re gonna get a nom. Unless they do something completely indie or off-brand. Same for Taylor, except this time she did do something off-brand in terms of doing folk music and not basic pop musicNovember 26, 2021 at 12:25 pm #1204608037
SOTY is definitely the most interesting to predict. I feel Tony and Gaga are frontrunners for AOTY and ROTY so whomever wins this category (unless it’s Olivia) it will likely be their only GF award. I could see H.E.R., Olivia, Billie, or Silk Sonic taking it. I do think BMV might be telling of Billie and Olivia having more support than Silk Sonic though
I don’t feel Tony and Gaga are frontrunners in AOTY or ROTY at all lmao. They could be a surprise win but not frontrunners as of nowNovember 26, 2021 at 12:23 pm #1204608033
SOTY going to Drivers license
ROTY going to Leave the Door Open OR Happier Than Ever (2nd choice)
AOTY going to Happier Than Ever OR Sour (2nd choice)
A lot of people are overestimating Gaga / Tony like they did Taylor Swift prior to nomination announcements.November 26, 2021 at 11:15 am #1204607934
i said this but pop categories are extremely pure pop leaning, they don’t like crossover. even evermore as an alt/folk album missedNovember 25, 2021 at 8:02 pm #1204606972
If you’d told me after By the Way I Forgive You that Brandi would be top two to win Pop Solo Performance, I would’ve thought you were crazy, but here we are. As a massive Brandi stan I’m so happy it happened, but I’m still so shocked that such a bold strategy worked, especially when pop voters have become so picky.
what exactly was the strategy? curious cuz this song came out of nowhere for meNovember 25, 2021 at 2:39 pm #1204606627
It’s between Sour and Happier than Ever imoNovember 25, 2021 at 2:38 pm #1204606625
It’s Sour, Driver’s License, and Kiss Me More. Very easy to predict 😀November 25, 2021 at 2:36 pm #1204606622
I love halsey but i didn’t love her last album, still love the fact she got recognition after years of snubs. Alternative is more receptive to mainstream artists than Rock… so that explains Miley getting left out. I’m also surprised at Rock but their voters seem very stingy… a lot of the biggest rock/alt songs are always left out, they like pretentiously favor commercially unsuccessful material sometimes >.<November 25, 2021 at 2:33 pm #1204606618
AOTY will be between Billie and OliviaNovember 25, 2021 at 2:32 pm #1204606616
Ariana is obviously floating dead on the water. The material is old by now, she abonded the era quickly, it was a commercial decline from TUN and she’s not very present at the moment during voting. She’ll probably finish last in both her categories.
this isn’t even debatable lmao Sour and Driver License have those categories on chokehold anywayNovember 25, 2021 at 2:27 pm #1204606603
tbh surprised in a good way selena getting in! i hope she wins now… it’s hard to tell which niche genres are receptive to singers like selena and which aren’t. like rock was harsh towards Miley, but Latin and R&B seem open to more mainstream basic artists. noted for future referenceNot now
