String Cheese Theory replied to the topic What Are You Binge Watching? (Part 2) in the forum Television 1 week, 2 days ago
In big need of nostalgic fluff and laughs over the weekend, so started bingeing Scrubs and it’s even better than I remembered. Bizarre how under-appreciated it was by the Television Academy especially when considering what was competing in the comedy categories at the time. It is so creative, well acted, well written and directed, you can see how…[Read more]

String Cheese Theory replied to the topic Vote-Split #3 : Niles vs Temple vs Waddingham – Who Would You Pick? in the forum Television 1 week, 3 days ago
That would probably be the most illuminating way to do it. If the mods have issues with too many polls, we can just manually enter our single pick and you can tally them up?

Oh really you joined this website when you were 17.
Anyway I couldn’t care less about what you …. there’s a collective word for you …. think. This is a site for talking about shows and performances and you can just hit the ignore button on me if you can’t handle your faves being critiqued. Your collective pearl clutching is so boring. It doesn’t really matter. I’d wager most voters watched when it aired.

It is completely valid to criticize weak performances of manifactured and packaged tabloid individuals and their massive, psychotic stan bases, when there is absolutely no defence of her acting, only attacking someone who dares critique your celeb fantasy, because deep down you know she can’t act. You all come here from the music forum anyway -…[Read more]

Imo the only other one who was deserving was Jake Lacy.

String Cheese Theory replied to the topic 2022 British TV Thread in the forum Television 1 week, 4 days ago
As an Aussie it’s a bit weird posting this in the British thread, but I found this article praising Guy Pearce for his performance in the last episode sof Neighbours to be really touching (yes I shed a tear).
Interesting note – our notorious “cultural cringe” really jumps out.
Apparently there are spoilers in this article for the Brits who…[Read more]

To be quite honest, from my perspective it’s gross and worrying that so many men on this site stan child actors who went the sexy route, released some mid pop albums and did some mid acting. It gives fetishization and sexualization of children actually.

Same, I picked Juno from the TL gals but I would have picked Janelle if she was listed. I guess we need a third type of vote splitting poll!

Wait, is The Great S2 only just airing now in the UK??
This review gives it 5 stars:
A monster of a performance by Nicholas Hoult makes Peter a very funny caricature of a ruler intoxicated and infantilised by privilege, who can turn…

String Cheese Theory replied to the topic Vote Split #2: Anthony Carrigan vs. Henry Winkler – Who Would You Pick? in the forum Television 2 weeks ago
Oh absolutely. If it was S2 again, I would be doing this headache polling between Root and Carrigan. Root was genius in S1 and S2, but Winkler was incomparable in S1.
I think about Fuches shouting “fuck you, actor boy” at Barry at least once a day.

Popping into the film forum for the first time in months and haven’t been paying much attention on this side of things (no cinemas where I live). From the biggies in the prediction centre, which ones are already out? I know Elvis, Top Gun, EEAAO have been released, but is there anything else I can get a jump on? Including international features…[Read more]

Inspired by forwardswill’s Battle of the Martins, which of the two nominated Barry Supporting Actor nominees would you vote for, given a choice between the two?
Winkler is already a winner, but he is also a legend who can win more than once, and he had a very significant role this season, but also it was largely very dramatic: “10 ccs of pure…[Read more]

I love every scene with Steve Martin and Martin Short. I love the colouring, the editing, the title sequence, the sets, several of the guests, the writing is quite good, there are actual jokes.
But Cara Delevigne and Selena Gomez are two of the worst actors I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s so jarring compared to all of the quality they are…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”></p>
This approach to SAG is, from a statistical standpoint, like saying the GD top 6 in each category will predict the nominees … I mean it’s just garden variety common thinking, not some kind of soothsaying. Sometimes it will match, other times there are surprises, other times each body has its faves, other times…[Read more] -
