Hawes is taller than Scott. It’ll be the man doing scenes standing on the boxes this time. She’s either same height or taller than Prince Charles too based on that video of her meeting him.April 4, 2021 at 2:01 pm #1204175584
I hope Ruth Wilson gets some kind of nomination somewhere for HDM before the show ends. Her and her character is what keeps me interested. No disrespect to everyone else, but she’s stealing every scene without even trying. I find the show kinda boring without her character. Great visuals but the rest is kinda boring.April 2, 2021 at 7:17 pm #1204172782
Yeah, I don’t understand all the rules. I figured it was like when the streaming networks buy other British shows that are then eligible for Emmys too.April 2, 2021 at 6:36 pm #1204172757
With that list of eligible TV movies a few pages back, they should’ve labeled Honour from Brit Box as a movie instead of a miniseries. If anyone watched it, it might’ve had a chance for a nomination.
I say this as someone that doesn’t understand the Emmy rules at all.February 19, 2021 at 8:22 am #1204049817
I’d go with Callum over NPH too. After watching, I’d nominate Callum, Olly, and Keeley. Lydia was wonderful, but I think her category will be packed.
Definitely one of my favorite shows of the past few years. While being a difficult watch because of the subject matter, it was easy in that the time passed quickly. If it’s between this and The Queen’s Gambit or I May Destroy You, I’d choose this. I loved both those too. I still have some others to watch.January 23, 2021 at 6:30 am #1203997384
I don’t have patience, so I watched this on my go to website for uk shows, and I thought the first episode was great. I haven’t had a first episode that sucked me in like this in a long time. It’s usually me being distracted and then telling myself to keep watching because everyone is praising the show. At the end of this I was surprised it was over already because it went by so fast.
Is NPH going to be in a weak category? He was pretty good, and I can see him getting a nomination. He didn’t blow me away enough to be a shoe-in, but he was good. I liked the Colin kid the best of the group so far.
Based on the reviews, I’d say Lydia and Keeley are the ones with a chance for Bafta nominations. I think it’ll be lead Lydia and supporting Keeley. I’ll have to wait and see this 5th episode Keeley performance people are talking about. Maybe if the show is a huge success here they both can break through for the Emmys.
It’s on the European hbo apps, so I suspect they’re holding it off for the awards. Maybe so it’ll be fresh in voters memories and get a lot of votes? Could just be advertising reasons. I don’t know how these decisions are made.January 6, 2021 at 9:12 am #1203965833
Any idea when this will be coming to HBO Max? I know it’s coming out in the UK this month, but I haven’t heard about Max.
Just wondering because sometimes shows are on both around the same time like “His Dark Materials” and sometimes you have to wait a bit like with “I hate Suzie.”August 9, 2020 at 11:45 am #1203635780
Is Keeley lead in Boys? I was under the impression it’s mainly about the kids, and she’s the main character’s mom. I don’t think she filmed very long either.February 24, 2020 at 7:18 pm #1203359306
The only thing I can think would cost so much is the actors. It either has to be their price tag or doing the de-aging process. I live in Oklahoma, and I can’t imagine why it’d be costing so much. I’m not naive about how much filming costs, but that amount seems crazy for this kind of movie. Especially when you include that things are cheaper in Oklahoma. They also get incentives/rebates or something like that.April 23, 2019 at 7:47 am #1202863232
Traitors was so boring in parts not even Keeley Hawes or Michael Stuhlbarg could save it. Also some of the final episode was just ridiculous. A character crawling up stairs with a broken back or whatever it was. Come on. I desperately wanted to like the show because I liked many of the actors in it. I know obviously some people liked it, but I barely made it through the first two episodes.
Admittedly Keeley’s character Priscilla was the most interesting part of the show, but that was probably Keeley’s talent coming through. That’s the only way I can see her nominated for Traitors. I’m more curious about how Summer of Rockets does. Maybe a nomination will come from it. I know the director/creator is hit or miss.
