Recording Academy added on their Instagram Stories that SZA and Billy Crystal are presenting. Sheryl Crow and Wanmor were added as performers. Happy Grammys day, everyone!
ReplyFebruary 4, 2023 at 3:29 pm #1205284211Have y’all seen this? Apparently Jennifer Lopez was rehearsing for a performance. Daily Mail claims that its for the Grammys, but this is the only report I’ve seen of a potential J.Lo appearance.
ReplyFebruary 4, 2023 at 10:03 am #1205283773Variety did mention in their performers/presenters article that the producers have 18 performance slots planned. 12 of those have already been announced so far. Adele’s been leaked as the female performer, so there’s 5 slots to be filled.
ReplyFebruary 4, 2023 at 8:28 am #1205283600Recording Academy recently posted a teaser of the seating chart. One thing I noticed is that one of the charts they showed was Dave Free, who is Kendrick Lamar’s creative partner. A bit odd to show Dave’s chart but not Kendrick’s.

ReplyFebruary 3, 2023 at 9:21 am #1205282377Still would like to figure out who these surprise performances are from. Do we rule Jay-Z out the equation since his has just been announced?
ReplyFebruary 3, 2023 at 8:41 am #1205282284From People: Trever Noah Teases a ‘Favorite’ Female Artist Planning a Surprise Grammys Performance
“Though Noah cannot confirm the final performances that have yet to be announced, he teased that some fan favorites are sure to be there not only as guests, but on the stage as well.
“One of your favorite performers is a woman, and that woman is going to be performing at the Grammys,” he told Rubenstein. “Then one of your other favorite performers is a man, and that man is going to be performing at the Grammys, and you’re going, Oh, but that could be anyone. But you know, it’s not anyone though because you’ve been listening to their album the whole year and it’s been huge.”
ReplyFebruary 2, 2023 at 7:30 pm #1205281760So, Variety just posted those ballot confessions shared earlier, with two new ones. It won’t be a pretty sight when more people see these.
ReplyFebruary 2, 2023 at 5:44 pm #1205281613It’s true. There is a screenshot of Ben Winston’s Instagram stories confirming the category in the main show.
Guys…he was joking. Like he literally said they were going to move Best Music Film TO THE MAIN AWARD OF THE NIGHT on the telecast. He was just excited about being nominated that he decided to mess around lol.
Best Music Film will be presented at the Premiere Ceremony like it always has.
ReplyFebruary 2, 2023 at 9:06 am #1205280855Future. So Best Melodic Rap Performance would be the televised rap category if Wait For U wins.
Yup. Stacked line-up for the tribute. The segment would feature over 30 performers ALONE.
ReplyFebruary 2, 2023 at 8:46 am #1205280810“The 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 5, will include a star-studded segment celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. It will include performances by Big Boi, Busta Rhymes with Spliff Star, De La Soul, DJ Drama, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Missy Elliott, Future, GloRilla, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio/Ethiopian King, Ice-T, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, The Lox, Method Man, Nelly, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Rahiem, Rakim, RUN-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella, Scarface, Swizz Beatz and Too $hort
LL Cool J will introduce the segment, perform and give a dedication to hip-hop. Questlove will serve as producer and musical director, The Roots will provide music and Black Thought will narrate.”
On a side note, this is also as much of a confirmation that I need that Kendrick isn’t attending this year’s ceremony.
ReplyFebruary 1, 2023 at 9:43 am #1205279542“The lineup for the 2023 GRAMMYs on Sunday, Feb 5, will include an In Memoriam segment paying tribute to some of those from the creative community that were lost this year with performances by GRAMMY-winning and -nominated artists.
The segment will feature Kacey Musgraves performing “Coal Miner’s Daughter” in a tribute to three-time GRAMMY winner and 18-time nominee Loretta Lynn; Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood and Bonnie Raitt honoring three-time GRAMMY winner Christine McVie with “Songbird”; and Maverick City Music joining Quavo for “Without You” as they remember the life and legacy of Takeoff.”
ReplyFebruary 1, 2023 at 8:59 am #1205279440The more I’m thinking about it, the more it seems possible for the Best Americana Album category to be bumped to the main ceremony. With Jill Biden presenting for it. It makes sense to me at least.
ReplyFebruary 1, 2023 at 7:52 am #1205279348I can see Cardi present either a Rap award or a Latin award tbh.
ReplyJanuary 29, 2023 at 2:15 pm #1205273901So how is the song for social change category working. Are there nominees or are they just presenting it to one song that they decided on?
There aren’t any nominees for that one, a committee decides who wins. It’s a Special Merit award and songs that are five years old or newer quality for consideration.
