    Everything Everywhere All at Once!

Runner-up: Triangle of Sadness & Babylon

    Very close race.
What should worry people is that I have not agreed with AMPAS since 2003, and have had previous frontrunners 3B, La La Land, The Social Network, and Brokeback Mountain as my personal winners.

Maybe the 20 year curse will be broken!
Thanks for following along as always!

I’ve updated the final post on page 1 now that I’ve watched almost my entire backlog.

Of note, the Babylon wrecking-ball — a total of 17 nominations, which matches Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 23 years ago for the most nominations I’ve ever given a single film.

    Also…
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever picks up noms for costume design and visual effects.

Crimes of the Future scores a nod in makeup.

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed and The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari make the documentary list.

Winners to follow over the next 2 weeks

Second post updated with easy-to-read noms list.

    UPDATE FEB 14th:

Have now watched Babylon, The Inspection, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, To Leslie, Causeway, The Quiet Girl, The Sea Beast, Alcarras, Crimes of the Future, All That Breathes, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, and a House Made of Splinters.

Still have to see Return to Seoul, Saint Omer, and No Bears, but seeing as they may not reach VOD for months, it’s best to just get on with it.

The Inspection, To Leslie, Causeway, The Quiet Girl, The Sea Beast, Alcarras, All That Breathes, and a House Made of Splinters receive zero nominations.

Now get ready for the wrecking ball that is Babylon (a cautionary tale about doing your nominations too early…)
