This is going to be a mess, just like the rest of Disney’s live action films, save for Maleficent!July 16, 2019 at 7:06 pm #1202980076
I’ll be glad when the Academy stops throwing awards at Julia Louis Dreyfus. Enough is enough!!!!
And I don’t know what Jenifer Lewis has to do to get a nomination! Come on now!
These SNL nominations every year are a bit much. Bring back the Variety performance category.July 16, 2019 at 3:25 pm #1202979615

Kristen forced Kate and Ted to blame Stefan.
Speaking of Kristen, during her convo with Stefan and Gabi, she knew about Nicole and Kate arguing over Theresa’s designs way back when. But how would she know that? Definitely a mistake on the part of the writers.July 9, 2019 at 2:47 am #1202967306

Based on some of the voice acting clips from Beyonce and Donald Glover, the Lion King is shaping up to be lukewarm. It’s going to make tons of money though.July 4, 2019 at 8:22 pm #1202962748
I’m curious to see if the rest of the casting will be color blind.
I can envision Melissa as Ursula.
I think Chloe and Halle are quite bland. We’ll see how this turns out.
And I think of Halle Berry every time this girl’s name is mentioned.July 3, 2019 at 8:11 pm #1202961745
Is Sony the reason Eileen hasn’t returned as Kristen? I know she’s mentioned that it’s a heavy workload but Kristen’s airtime hasn’t been that heavy in the last two storylines with her.July 2, 2019 at 4:14 pm #1202959971
Some of the defendants have repeated their admissions of guilt. Santana testified at a parole hearing in 1994 and he was questioned about the crimes he committed on April 19th, 1989. He admitted that he and his friends planned to go to the park that night to rob and assault people. He stated that about seven or eight friends devised the plan. They were prepared to attack whoever they encountered that night in the park. Santana reiterated that they had let one, a couple, go because the man was with his girlfriend. Santana also admitted to beating a man. He denied only the rape.
When McCray went before the parole board in November 1994, he admitted all of his crimes except for the rape of the female jogger. Two of the defendants, Raymond Santana and Kevin Richardson, during interviews conducted by detectives in 2002, admitted their participation in the assaults that did not involve the jogger.
In the first major event, the assault on Antonio Diaz, a total of 23 people were named as participants or as being present. All five defendants were implicated by accomplices and two admitted participation. The second major event was harassment of a couple on a tandem bike. A total of 13 people were named participants or as being present; four of the defendants were implicated by accomplices and admitted participation.
The third major event was crossing the 96th Street Transverse road to the reservoir. A total of 17 people were identified as having gone south towards the reservoir. All five defendants were implicated by accomplices and admitted going. The fourth major event was the assault on jogger David Lewis. A total of 11 people were identified as participants or as being present. Four of the defendants were implicated by accomplices and one admitted participation.
The fifth major event was the assault on jogger John Loughlin, who was very badly beaten. A total of 19 people were identified as participants or as being present. All five defendants were implicated by accomplices and three admitted participation.
Yes these poor innocent boys were eating popsicles and did nothing in the park that night.
And Power is still obsessed with the fact that my opinions don’t match his.July 1, 2019 at 4:29 pm #1202958276
All your comments are pathetic and disgusting. If you know anything about sex at all, and specifically rape, is the al men usually always ejaculate. 90% of men only need 1 or 2 minutes to ejaculate if they do not care about the woman/man and if they do not not try to control themselves, to think that only 1 of 6 ejaculated is laughable. Why would Reyes take the fault by himself? How was he able to do the other three rapes by himself, but he needed help only for this one? Why neither one of the five men tried to received less time and using their chance of parole by accepting their fault? Especially Korey? You must try to develop the skill of logic. Your claims are the joke of the century.
I can tell that reading is definitely hard for some. The “unknown semen” found on the victim turned out to be a match to Matias Reyes. In 1989, DNA testing wasn’t even a thing yet. The semen from the other boys were found in their underwear.
It’s exhausting even having a conversation with people who won’t take the time to actually research the case instead of taking the word of the poor defenseless teenage boys who were beating people in the park.
These men themselves told the cops about a rape that the cops were not even aware of and why is that? The victim was found hours after!
Matias Reyes, a serial killer and rapist, is hardly a credible witness. He told his fellow inmate that he heard the screams of the woman and then joined in on the fun. Then he confessed that he acted alone? But Ava doesn’t mention in her film that he was afraid of Korey Wise’s prison gang. The same Korey who told the cops about the fanny pack that they didn’t even know was stolen.June 30, 2019 at 6:02 pm #1202957127
The rape victim was found at 1am. A few of the boys were brought into the station hours before. Yet the police coerced them into confessing to a crime that they were not even yet aware of?
Linda Fairstein is depicted in the movie as being at the station that night but she didn’t even arrive until the next day.
Kevin Richardson is depicted in the movie as having a swollen eye, supposedly caused by a cop. In the real life photo of Richardson at the police station, there is no swollen eye.
Korey Wise’s female friend testified for the prosecution that Korey admitted to her that he held down the rape victim’s legs when the attack happened. Let me guess. The police coerced her into doing that too?
Defenders of the Central Park Five likewise point out that no traces of DNA from the boys’ hair, sweat, saliva, or skin had been found on the victim either. But as Ann Coulter wrote in 2018: “Today, these kids’ DNA would have been found all over the crime scene. But in 1989, DNA was a primitive science. Most cops wouldn’t have even bothered collecting samples for DNA tests back then.” Indeed, the development of a national DNA database enabling investigators to identify perpetrators by matching their genetic materials to those collected from other crime scenes, would not even begin until several years later.June 30, 2019 at 1:18 pm #1202956946
From the various accounts that Matias Reyes has given in different interviews that we have been able to review, there have been significant problems or inconsistencies in his description of the details of the attack and subsequent events. In addition, several statements were made by witnesses to officers investigating the incident and by the defendants, speaking outside the formal interrogation process, which directly contradict Reyes’s claim that he acted alone, and evidence the participation of the defendants. They include inculpatory statements by defendants Wise, Richardson and Santana both to police officers and to civilian witnesses who reported the statements to police. Santana and Richardson separately pointed out the location of the rape when brought to Central Park. When Wise was questioned, he made reference to a man named “Rudy” who took the jogger’s Walkman; the description of the jogger’s “Walkman pouch” was similar to Reyes’s description of a “fanny pack.” At the time of this interview, the police had no way of knowing that the jogger had a Walkman or that she carried it in a pouch. Wise also commented on the amount of blood at the spot where the rape occurred. When asked why he was so surprised by the amount of blood, he answered, “I knew she was bleeding but I didn’t know how bad she was. It was really dark. I couldn’t see how much blood there was at night.”
Please tell me how Korey Wise was “coerced” to tell the police about a fanny pack they knew nothing about until it was brought up again years later by Reyes. The police actually had to go back to their notes to realize that Korey brought it up years earlier.
And btw, the lead cop in the case was black.June 30, 2019 at 1:11 pm #1202956942
“Relevant forensic evidence concerning the presence of hair, blood and semen on some of the defendants’ clothing was presented at trial and has not been refuted. In particular, hair “consistent” with the female jogger’s hair was found on the clothing of Richardson and co-defendant Steven Lopez; blood stains were found on Santana’s right sneaker, Salaam’s jacket and on co-defendant Lopez’s underwear, and semen stains were found on the underwear of McCray and Richardson, and on Santana’s sweatshirt.”June 30, 2019 at 11:44 am #1202956863
There’s other means of DNA getting onto people and those boys would’ve 100% gotten that blood on them, and they didn’t. The Avery case comparison is ridiculous since the only thing they have in common is a Netflix show. If the only thing you read are DailyMail interviews and a highly criticized report that was notoriously made to cover the NYPD from accusations of corruption, then you are, quite frankly, the gullible one. This is just embarrassing.
I can tell you’re highly influenced by movies rather than actual people who were there. Where was this report “highly criticized?”
They paid for the crime so there isn’t much injustice now. Except the focus is on them rather than a woman who was sexually assaulted by multiple people.
The pre-trial hearings before the actual trial; the judge in the case did not find sufficient warranting to believe their confessions were coerced. Only one statement was inadmissible.
What’s embarrassing are people who don’t take the time to find out what actually happened rather than take the word of suspects crying racism. Oh and they acknowledged that they beat the other victims in the park too.
