No…Some artists don’t really care about success or acolades that much… they just make music because they love doing it and it’s their way of life and making money…Not everybody is recognition-thirsty and want to win a Grammy- of course it’s nice to win but not everybody wants Grammys that much as you make it seem
You have been here for just around 2+ months but i can say you are more annoying than Gucci I have ever witnessedJanuary 31, 2019 at 4:18 pm #1202757220
What’s the likelihood of a performance from Ariana Grande, the hottest act in the business right now? Word is the show’s producers want her to sing what they want, not what she wants.
Maybe because her recent materials aren’t Grammy worthy. That’s saying somethingJanuary 28, 2019 at 8:33 pm #1202753594
It took me all of about 20 seconds to see that the leak was not real. I do think that the list was believable because many of the “winners” were either predicted or expected to win. Anyways Best Pop Vocal Album is a Taylor v Ari situation and I doubt that either of them will even show up. So this really is a tough one.
if both of them don’t attend the ceremony that’d be no problem. they can still be awardedJanuary 28, 2019 at 8:31 pm #1202753593
I don’t think some stan was smart enough to hack/mirror/edit some website for their enjoyment. It requires advanced understanding of website building or coding.
Also some stan cited Deloitte as if they know what Deloitte is.January 27, 2019 at 6:53 pm #1202751557
This era was heavily marketed and y’all know some of those songs are not Taylor’s ideas. Her producers and specially her label affected most of the songwriting.
Nah, those songs actually fits what Taylor have been through for the past 3 years. In fact, Taylor always has the authority to write songs as she wants not let the label dictates her (her Grammy listening of 1989 prove it). Big Machine knew Taylor always could pull of million copies so they’ll just let her do it. That’s the teaJanuary 27, 2019 at 7:25 am #1202750223
Taylor Swift was a cowriter on a good chunk of Reputation. Max Martin did the heavy work.
I have to LAUGH. Go watch The Making of A Song documentary on Taylor Swift Now on AT&T.
I’ll add this to englighten who doubt her part as main writer on all of her discography hereJanuary 27, 2019 at 3:33 am #1202750076
Shake It Off:5,3M copies in US Call Me Maybe:7,6M copies in US Shake it off was successful but it’s not even in TOP 50 of best-selling digital songs
I’m pretty sure we were talking about global numbers but since you want to add U.S numbers, then please add 6.1 million copies to Shake It Off since that’s how many copies 1989 had sold with SIO as one of the tracks on the albumJanuary 27, 2019 at 3:28 am #1202750071
ariana was a co-writer on 10/15 songs on sweetener… and on ‘thank u, next’ it’s 12/12
co-write, not main writerJanuary 26, 2019 at 7:47 am #1202749200
Call Me Maybe is bigger Call Me Maybe: -9 weeks at #1 -#2 on year-end chart -Diamond Certification Shake It Off -4 weeks at #1 -#13 on year-end -9X Platinum
Of course Call Me Maybe was charting higher on the YE chart, it peaked on June and needed 9 months after its release to reach #1. Shake It Off was released in August and the YE chart was concluded in early December.
Shake It Off is diamond-eligible. I’m pretty sure Taylor or Big Machine just waiting to her other singles (Blank Space 8x platinum since July 2018 and 9x eligible and Love Story, 8x platinum since April 2015) to reach diamond too so she can have 3 diamond certifications in one time.
As for the best selling digital singles, Taylor Swift was managed to sell SIO for 18 million worldwide and Blank Space 16 million worldwide and was the latest female to do so. Carly achieved that during digital singles era (Moves Like Jagger moved 14.4 m, Party Rock Anthem moved 14 m, Somebody That I Used To Know moved 14 m all in 2011). Taylor with SIO was actually the best selling digital singles in 2014January 26, 2019 at 7:33 am #1202749181
Julia Michaels EP is really good. Should get nominated for Pop VocalJanuary 24, 2019 at 9:26 pm #1202747636
I believe she can still pull 1 million pure sales, since most of fans loved to have physical copies and digital files on iTunes as a memorabilia, and since her Spotify followers were skyrocketing compared to November 2017 she could pull 100-200k SPS on streaming platform, considering her label now is really good in streaming promotions. I don’t think she will do bundles.
She won’t break 1989/reputation sales tho, maybe around Speak Now number
