I’m not dreading it but then I’m not as excited as I’ve been in recent years for two basic reasons: 1) the host and 2) the fact that I’ve been so busy the last four months I honestly forgot this was this Sunday. Also the venue I’ve watched this at for the last decade no longer exists and that just makes me sad.

Lead Actress
Finola Hughes as Anna Devane
General HospitalSupporting Actress
Jane Eliot as Tracy Quartermaine
General HospitalOk seriously where has this show been? This was a really good hour mostly because it focused on some of its best actors (and any reason to see Robin is a good reason). Anna getting her diagnosis was brilliantly played and it’s a good juicy story for Hughes to work with that keeps the action in the hospital where it belongs. Eliot and Kurth did brilliant work in their two hand scenes too. It’s always a good decision to center action with two actors who know their stuff and have about 25-30 years of chemistry to draw on (Eliot and Kurth, Hughes and McCullough) and it will ALWAYS be the right call.
ReplyFebruary 13, 2017 at 12:44 pm #1202011067I think Genie would be interesting because let’s face it there’s only two people in daytime that have ever hit the pop culture zeitgeist that way. But I agree it would have to be totally honest.
ReplyFebruary 7, 2017 at 11:12 am #1202004892Since Nik is dead and Spencer is in France for his own protection, can we please have Britt come back?
February 3, 2017 at 4:27 pm #1202002531By the way, did they just straight up forget Lucas and Maxie are cousins? Why on earth were he and Brad not at their wedding?
February 1, 2017 at 6:02 pm #1202001128Ok so Nelle is Frank Benson’s daughter. Mystery solved.
February 1, 2017 at 11:33 am #1202000952Maybe she’s the new prosecutor Diane alluded to a couple weeks ago? Also didn’t the legal case keep them from using Skye since she was also an originating AMC character? We could get her and Lila Rae back…
I’m not down with Star coming back unless Kristin plays her. However if they can lure Debbi Morgan in to play either Angie or the doctor character she played on Port Charles (Dr. Burgess) I’m down.
January 24, 2017 at 12:09 am #1201993448So the show will be Emmy quality for sweeps and unwatchable the rest of the year?
ReplyJanuary 23, 2017 at 1:18 pm #1201993141I often watch the first 15 minutes of GH and decide to skip the rest of it; it’s not holding my attention. If there is clearly Emmy-worthy work happening I will stay with it and that has happened from time to time.
Same, except I usually turn it off after ten.
January 22, 2017 at 11:56 am #1201992401Well if we are being fair, the Webbers via Laura and her kids are part of the focus. We just have to drag out his Morgan death-Jerome nonsense until the end of time. Which do they not remember that the audience didn’t really like the Jeromes in the first place in the 80s?
January 20, 2017 at 4:36 pm #1201991622Yeah this Olivia nonsense is too over the top. The Maxie and Nathan wedding was nice with some earned character moments and it’s always great to see Kristina Wagner and John York.
January 11, 2017 at 6:33 am #1201985421When they get it right they get it so obviously right. When they miss, holy Christ on a crutch do they ever miss!
ReplyJanuary 10, 2017 at 11:27 am #1201984813My hunch is that IF NBC decides not to renew DOOL that it will find life at another network. Something tells me that Sony Pictures Television will offer it to ABC and CBS, and I have this strong feeling that one of them will take it. I’m actually thinking ABC might snatch it up. I think it would be a wise decision for ABC to pair DOOL with GH.
My idea would be this schedule:
11am: The View
12pm: The Chew
1pm: Days Of Our Lives
2pm: General Hospital
3pm: Local Programming
4pm: Local ProgrammingThe local affiliates have that hour between 1 and 2 eastern and they are never ever going to give it back. This is a no go from the jump.
ReplyJanuary 8, 2017 at 11:59 am #1201982130Or NBC could not give a crap if Days wraps up anything since they have no financial stake in the show. This is the network that wouldn’t let Law & Order make history after all…
