The comparisons that pundits have been doing this season on twitter lol Spotlight and Belfast Moonlight and king Richard Coda and parasite
This is super funny.
February 11, 2022 at 8:46 pm #1204797691This guy has been predicting, as almost all of NBP, Belfast and Branagh till this week.
Also he hates TPOTD. He’s been campaigning against it for months.
We’ll see what happens.
February 6, 2022 at 1:49 pm #1204780313The fact that some people actually believe this
I was making fun of the ws stans, obviously. I didn’t find a winking emoji.
January 30, 2022 at 10:23 am #1204759827Will Smith is winning because he gave the best performance out of the bunch this year. Not because he is overdue. It will be another one of those few times where AMPAS rewards an actor for giving the best performance of the year and not due to politics.
This isn’t what you were advocating for on the previous thread. You said that he should win because he’s black.
I’m hoping WILL SMITH wins as this year is oh so white. If we are going to get representation anywhere in this Caucasian Award Show, this will definitely be the category to do so.

January 23, 2022 at 11:16 pm #1204746119so for DGA i think is: locks Power of the Dog Belfast West Side Story one between CODA, King Richard and Don’t Look Up very possible Dune possible licorice pizza another one between CODA, King Richard and Don’t Look Up
Locks
Jane Campion – The Power of the Dog
Steven Spielberg – West Side Story
Denis Villeneuve – Dune
I don’t see Branagh as a lock.
January 23, 2022 at 4:45 pm #1204745756I think if the reports are true, Belfast is no.1 at the UK Box Office this week.
It’s very possible.
Edit: according to boxofficemojo it is first with +- 3000000.
January 23, 2022 at 3:48 pm #1204745682I do think there are tiers to the appreciation for TPOTD’s acting performances though. There may not be a huge gap between them, but Kodi’s performance seems the most appreciated followed by Benedict’s. And then there’s a larger gap between them and Kirsten.
Supporting actor is weaker than actor. BC didn’t win more awards because there are very good performances like those of Cage, Simon Rex, Nishijima and others, including AG. Who are the contenders against Kodi? The Belfast guys don’t count, it’s been almost between him and Kotsur.

Benedict Cumberbatch has been named the honoree of the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s Cinema Vanguard Award, which will be presented March 9 following an in-person conversation I will moderate about his career.
………………….
“He’s an intelligent, enigmatic and deeply committed artist who comfortably straddles a career in blockbusters and independent cinema where he works with visionary talent like Jane Campion. We’re ecstatically planning our celebration of Benedict Cumberbatch” remarked SBIFF’s Executive Director Roger Durling.
