This is Reba’s first time ever being nominated for Country Album, and I’m so happy! With her recent win 2 years ago, she could be a threat to Tanya Tucker for the win.
Other than that, Tanya Tucker will easily win her first Grammy award this year, and will walk away with at least 2.

ReplyNovember 19, 2019 at 7:29 am #1203187003I’m happy about it too. You celebrate and acknowledge the Women of Country Music and then you screw up by giving EOTY to Garth Brooks instead of Carrie Underwood, the ONLY female nominated in that category. That’s a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE to them.
Yes a lot of people are fussing about Eric Church not winning and I sympathize also.
That’s one of the reasons I drew away from Country Music; another reason is because it’s HOLLYWOOD & POP. I want OLD Country.
I’m starting to see that, too. There is no reason Miranda Lambert should have 7 Female Vocalist of the Year trophies. I can count at least 2-3 of those that belong to Carrie Underwood and Kacey Musgraves, and one even belongs to Reba McEntire (the year that “Turn on the Radio” went to #1)
The fact that Carrie has NEVER won this award from the CMA’s is atrocious! Especially considering she has TWO from the ACM’s!!
ReplyNovember 15, 2019 at 9:01 pm #1203181563^^^ I read at another forum that fellow nominee Eric Church is no stranger to being on stage for as long as four hours. Enough said there.
God bless you and him always!!!
Holly
What does that have to do with Carrie Underwood deserving to win the award? Or anything at all with my statement?
ReplyNovember 15, 2019 at 6:02 am #1203180571I’m really happy to see the public backlash the CMA’s are getting over not awarding Carrie Underwood Entertainer of the Year. Especially to someone like Garth (who I’m very much a fan of, but he DEFINITELY did not deserve it) who only put out one song and played 5 live shows this year. She was definitely robbed!!
ReplyJune 21, 2018 at 7:26 pm #1202571068So does this mean Goodman and Metcalf are back in the Emmy race this year??
ReplyJune 12, 2018 at 7:20 am #1202563835So is no one predicting Megan Markle for Suits? I actually think a non for her could be a possibility. It’s the exact WTF name check thing the Emmy’s are known for! Will they ever get the chance to nominate a Duchess/Princess again???
ReplyJune 2, 2018 at 1:49 pm #1202557770I know this is off topic, but I’m re-watching season 6. John Goodman would have won the Emmy that year had he submitted “Lies My Father Told Me.” He gets to be angry, funny, drunk, and cry while dealing with putting his mother in a mental institution! It’s literally Emmy gold!!!
ReplyMay 29, 2018 at 8:21 pm #1202555803She’s retweeting people on Twitter that are defending her actions. Smh. This woman is an idiot. She will never work in this town again!
ReplyMay 29, 2018 at 11:54 am #1202555427I doubt another network picks this up. She called one of Obama’s staffers an ape. Hollywood loves Obama. The ONLY network I see picking this up is Fox News. LOL
ReplyMay 24, 2018 at 7:01 am #1202553097Seriously. That interview was horrible. All of the men came out looking like assholes. After this, I’m removing Bateman from my predictions, and adding Walter.
ReplyMay 20, 2018 at 12:20 am #1202550252That pilot had nothing on “Maternal Instincts”.
I completely agree. However, I think had Margulies submitted the Pilot, she would have won. She would have had a good episode to go along with her enormous buzz.
But I am glad Sedgwick won. She deserved that Emmy for The Closer, and deserved to be nominated until the series ended. I think she could have won at least 1 more Emmy had she continued to be nominated.
ReplyMay 19, 2018 at 9:28 pm #1202550218“It’s also a show most Emmy voters probably don’t watch though and even less so now without a tapes system. Even if she consistently delivers good performances eventually she will get dropped in this category.”
Sedgwick managed to come in 5 times for a show the Emmys didn’t care about. Though she won on that 5th try as opposed to 1st try, so hmm.I absolutely loved Sedgwick in The Closer, but she really lucked out the year she won. All of the buzz was for Margulies, however the tape system was in effect back then. Margulies submitted horribly, causing Sedgwick ( Who had the best submission) to prevail. Had Margulies submitted the Pilot of TGW, I truly believe Sedgwick would be Emmy-less for The Closer. Just like if we had the same situation today, Sedgwick would lose because there’s no tape system, so Margulies would win based off buzz.’
ReplyMay 14, 2018 at 6:59 pm #1202547110None of Carrie Underwood’s previous albums have been nominated for Country Album, so I doubt Cry Pretty will be. However, given how personal the song is to her, her promotion of it, and the fact she kills the song, could “Cry Pretty” be a possible nominee for SOTY???
ReplyMay 14, 2018 at 6:47 pm #1202547099I’m also surprised Empire didn’t submit Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker, or Phylicia Rashad. I get neither one probably had a chance of getting nominated, but I would have still submitted them.
