I can’t believe the Globes prevented Carey Mulligan to win an Oscar with their switch from Comedy to Drama
February 28, 2021 at 8:30 pm #1204071095It’s great for Andra Day but I’m sad her win ended this investigation about who’s gonna get that fifth spot, it was fun..

February 28, 2021 at 6:17 pm #1204068865I don’t understand why so many predicted Mank over Soul for score, they can reward a deserving third award less person by giving to Soul

February 27, 2021 at 5:07 pm #1204065338I’m not predicting it but I feel like the HFPA really likes Andra Day, so I can see her winning here
February 25, 2021 at 6:01 am #1204060519I think Amy Adams arrived in fifth position at the Oscars lmao. This performance generated absolutely zero passion, the nomination was purely name checking.
ReplyFebruary 23, 2021 at 7:30 am #1204056306The Golden Globes is made up of nothing but clueless white people. Ma Rainey not getting a best picture Golden Globe nomination means nothing. They didn’t nominate any film with predominantly Black casts. I mean in the television section they didn’t nominate one of the most critically acclaimed limited series with a predominantly black cast. Using Ma Rainey not getting a Golden Globe nomination to predict whether Viola could win the Oscar is pointless when you realize the fix was already in.
Sorry but this Ma Rainey snub means something for the Oscar prediction. It means that HFPA members aren’t crazy about Ma Rainey but love PYW and will give their award to Carey Mulligan. And since we all know that nowadays the Globe Best Actor/Actress winners wins automatically the Oscar..
February 22, 2021 at 4:05 pm #1204055198I’m predicting Glenn Close for a win at the Globes but I just looked into the GG Best Supp Actress winners historic and Close winning here would be kind of an anomaly. Since Cate Blanchett in 2008 for I’m Not There, every winner in this category were in a film that received multiple noms. The Reader, The Help, Precious, The Fighter, Les Misérables, American Hustle, Boyhood, I Tonya, Beale Street and Marriage Story were all nominated for Best Picture at the Globes. Fences only other nomination was for Best Actor but Viola Davis was the unquestionable frontrunner (Close isn’t) and Steve Jobs won Screenplay and there wasn’t a supporting actress from a BP nominee in the list this year.
Regarding this stat, I’m tempted to switch my prediction for Seyfried, I’d say she really “fits” here. Following this logic, Colman is also a strong possibility.
February 18, 2021 at 4:03 pm #1204048896Warner really messed up by giving this late release to Judas.. I’m quite sure the film would be a lock for a BP nom and even win competitive if it came out earlier.
Switch One Night in Miami and Judas release dates and I bet the former would be a very long shot for a BP nom.
