How does the academy announce the Creative Arts Emmy nominations? They post them on the site at 8:30 when the Primetime Emmys are announced on livestream?
ReplyJune 19, 2022 at 7:03 pm #1204990200I don’t think “Blood Atonement” was submitted for UTBOH, was it? I thought the writing submissions were “Revelation” and “When God was Love” but not sure since I can’t access the writing ballot pdf.
ReplyJune 18, 2022 at 9:36 pm #1204989563I know… there is a little bit of everything. Such a hard year to predict but, since I don’t think things will change much after noms are announced, here are my winner predictions:

Supporting actress-Jennifer Coolidge (White Lotus)
Supporting actor- Murray Bartlett (White Lotus)
Directing- Danny Strong (Dopesick)

Art Direction- Moon Knight or Gaslit
Cinematography- Gonzalo Amat (UTBOH)
Music- Jeff Ament and Josh Klinghoffer (UTBOH)
Editing- Isaac Earl Hagy (Station Eleven)

Seems like Limited Series and Directing (David Mackenzie) are still well in the mix. I’ve also heard a lot of buzz for Wyatt Russell in supporting, I would not count him out. However it goes in the “major” nominations. I think it will do quite well on the Creative Arts Awards nominations with at least 7: Casting, Cinematography, Editing, Makeup, Music Composition, Sound Mixing. Other possibilities Sound Editing, Production Design and Main Title Design.
June 2, 2022 at 1:19 pm #1204970998Same here! I’m wondering if metacritic is going to update their score for Banner, it’s been the same for a month with only 22 critic reviews.
May 31, 2022 at 8:42 pm #1204969030As with everything in life, it depends on who you talk to.
From my interactions with Emmy voters shows like:Under the Banner of Heaven, Station Eleven, Midnight Mass and Landscapers were the favorites to win (at least in most of the Creative Arts categories we discussed).
It is always interesting to hear how different the favorites from friends that don’t work in the industry are.

March 10, 2022 at 6:33 pm #1204840407Perhaps is a bit early, but I’m not seeing much love in the predictions from the experts and top users for Anatomy of a Scandal and Under the Banner of Heaven. I think both are going to be top contenders in most limited series categories- along with Dopesick and White Lotus of course.
UTBOH for Best Limited Series, Director, Lead Actor and Cinematography noms for sure.March 6, 2022 at 12:48 pm #1204833677Why are most predictions, polls etc not including Gaslit, Julia Roberts, Penn?

And for something “lighter” OuterbanksApril 24, 2020 at 7:45 pm #1203446283I was hoping that being the final season “The man in the High Castle” would finally receive the recognition it deserves. It baffles me how Rufus Sewell or Joel De la Fuente have never even been nominated. Sewell’s portrayal of John Smith is flawless. Hopefully, as it has in years prior, the Creative Emmy Awards will include and recognize the amazing cinematography, production design, visual effects, music and editing. Specially the series finale, even if the ending was not to everyone’s liking, it is one of the best crafted episodes I’ve ever watched on TV.
