I agree it’s so obviously not a single and so obviously not soemthing to be taken seriously. This talk of “content” is ridiculous. It’s just a boasting song. It doesn’t need to more than that, because (shocking revelation) different songs aim for different things!

Oh, and why should it matter that Stevie and Aretha would never do a song like this? beyonce is from a completely different generation, with a completely different cultural baggage, and with completely different intentions.

And “classless” really? You’re gonna throw the “taste” argument? Talk about conservative or narrow minded. This song is obviously not to be seen as “classy”. It’s supposed to be energetic, fun, have Beyonce be a bad ass. That’s all.

The fact that its a single or not, having fun or not, does NOT change the fact that its still GARBAGE. The point is whether it was seconds, minutes, hours, or days, TIME was spent making this trash. Had this been from Ciara, Nicki Minaj or Keri Hilson people would have been attacking and saying they are making terrible music. Beyonce get a pass for almost anything. And it doesnt matter what generation she is from, she should be making music with SUBSTANCE. She is considered or almost considered one of the “greats” and thats why I used other greats in my example. “GREATS” will make music of substance whether its fun or “serious”. 1)Yes, its classless, 2) hell yeah its tasteless and 3) I am VERY open minded and nowhere near conservative. Dont dumb me down cause I “don’t like something that Beyonce does”. I am sorry, if I like GOOD music. And fyi, I did not attack YOU, I attacked HER (and moreso her MUSIC). Beyonce got people attacking other people for HER ratchedness. This track is even ratchet for a “ratchet” artist. LOL! Again, I do not hate Beyonce, but you and others need to stop giving her a pass for this Sh-t (sorry, best way to describe it). And fun or not, she MEANT what she was saying in this track. She always get people fooled….obviously like yourself. Again, this is trash. Come with something better, OUR future “legend and icon”. SMH

I never give Beyonce an easy time. I never liked her first three solo albums (even downright hated Sasha Fierce), and beyond a few singles, I find Destiny’s Child’s albums to be quite mediocre. I do give her a pass for a song with an interesting switch in tempo and her badass attitude in song that is meant to be fun.

And I’m sorry, “classy” is such a pretentious reason to dislike, whether you’re a Radiohead fan or a Mariah one to dismerit something. Things don’t have to be “classy”.
You are right….things don’t have to be classy, but Beyonce is SUPPOSE to be classy…hence my point again.

It’s not terrible at all. And I’m not even a Beyonce fan, but this song is hard and badass. People just want to hate everything the woman does.

Hating has become the definition of going against whats popular. Hating is being negative and well….hateful. Its not hating, when you have an opinion and your opinion is you dont like something. This song is pure garbage. Beat wise its cool, but content wise its AWFUL. Beyonce is “suppose to be” one of the greatest out, a future icon and legend and this is what she comes up with? Its classless, tasteless, and just stupid. More is expected out of her. Whitney, Michael, Aretha, Stevie or anyone else who is “legendary” would NEVER make a song like this. HELL…I dont even think Madonna would. I am not even a big fan of Beyonce’s music (dont hate her either) and this is beneath her. She needs to show growth and make better music. She’s a 30 something year old wife and mother who is suppose to be evolving. “Diva” was in the same vein as this, BUT with taste and class. NO Beyonce…keep this and try again.

The Golden Girls deserved to win Comedy Series at least 5 times. And Rue and Bea should have been nominated for every year ( betty and estelle were ). And Estelle……. 1 Emmy??? Seriously??? she deserved like 7 for that show! lol doris Roberts won 4 for everybody loves raymond and Estelle wins 1 for Golden girls….. this doesn’t make sense!

I couldn’t agree more!!! Estelle put on one of the greatest comedic performances ever on televison, and she only got one Emmy? Please! Also Rue and Bea should’ve been nominated every season as well. They never failed to impress me! Also the show has never won Comedy series?? Wow just wow.

Couldnt agree more. GG’s was one of the best shows EVER with every cast member being STELLAR!

Friends was an over rated show. The only funny characters were Phebe and Joey. Jennifer Aniston in my opinion was just boring on the show……….

It was a good show but not even in my top 25 of best shows ever.

Wow! Understand it not being in the 25 best shows (could certainly be in the best 50 though), but I think it was indeed a great show and showed true chemistry and friendship. And while I can maybe understand Jen not being the funniest, she was the or one of the best actors of the show…hence her win, nominations, and success afterwards. While I think they are good and funny, Jen, Lisa Kudrow, and David (Ross) were the best ACTORS to me of the show.

Jennifer Aniston most definitely. Shes awful on Friends!

WHAT???? Jennifer Aniston was GREAT on friends. She deserved that emmy. She played Rachel great and then some. SMH at that comment.

That isn’t too shabby for Brandy.  Her last album, Human, opened up at #15 with 73K sold in its first week.

That shows the “state” of R&B. She opened at #15 with MORE albums sold then this time and this album is MUCH better than the last.

I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just nothing special in my opinion, kinda boring even. Not everything Frank Ocean puts his hands on is golden.

I feel u on the Frank Ocean comment and agree, but THIS song is golden. As soon as it comes in it draws you. I think you might have to give it some more listens and then maybe you might change your mind….or maybe you wont.

Scared of Beautiful is another low point though.

Really?? Thats one of the best tracks on the album- sung well, lyrically beautiful, and executed perfectly. That song has been getting alot of praise too. Frank Ocean did the damn thing with that song.

DEF a solid album with excellent vocals from Brandy. Its actually very cohesive with the exception of Put It Down (kinda messes up the flow). Its PURE R&B but 2012 R&B. Standouts are Wildest Dreams, Scared of Beautiful, Slower, Paint This House, Music, Wish Your Love Away, Without You, and Hardly Breathing. Not really a “bad” song on the album though.
