Not me waking up to this mess. Anyway, I’m off to work and trying to erase this shitty season from my memory.
ReplyMarch 27, 2022 at 7:45 pm #1204882667An advice for the industry: next time go for the deserving performance.
March 27, 2022 at 7:43 pm #1204882634Smith’s wife has an illness. If someone laughed at her on national television for her shaving bald, I’d also punch the living hell out of them. Chris thought he could emberass Jada in front of millions of people, Smith just made him cry in front of millions. Good boy. Also, get that Oscar baby.
Physical violence is never justified. stfu
March 23, 2022 at 12:43 pm #1204871618Underestimate those ballots if you want. There’s always some of you making fun of them and saying how irrelevant they are every season and when the upset happens you’re nowhere to be seen. They often show where the passion lies: Parasite, Hopkins, Colman, Frances. Maybe Cruz won’t win but she’s closer than you think.
March 21, 2022 at 7:30 am #1204864197Campion confirmed the castration shown on the film is fake:
Of course it’s fake. They probably shot many takes, it’s dumb to think they would castrate a bull for each one. LMAO
March 20, 2022 at 12:57 pm #1204861997https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Lol. Yeah, this would be something.
Lmao I actually said the same earlier.
March 20, 2022 at 10:24 am #1204861674Sorry but this is a total reach.
Maybe but a 3 noms movie winning BP in a ceremony where they cut most of the below-the-line categories fits perfectly. It’s a match made in heaven lmao
March 20, 2022 at 6:41 am #1204861366CODA’s win is so strange to me because what exactly is Best Picture worthy about it? It’s not even really a statement piece or trying to make much of a point, the technical aspects are all mediocre, the acting is… fine, I guess? Like people keep comparing it to Green Book but at least that felt like an actual movie, CODA just feels like a Disney Original Film.
I feel like CODA winning BP with just three noms would be another blow to those under the line branches they took out of the main show. It’s like the technical achievements don’t matter much for a movie to win BP. Dune is sweeping and it doesn’t stand a chance at BP. TPOTD got 12 noms yet it might lose to a 3 nom movie.
March 20, 2022 at 2:36 am #1204860883If they can’t win it with Campion they won’t win it with anyone. I would simply stop trying if I were them.
This. Stop playing the game altogether.
March 14, 2022 at 8:36 am #1204849538Not the Drive My Car hopedicting again especially after BAFTA. It’s not winning the Oscar unfortunately. It’s either CODA or TPOTD.
March 13, 2022 at 1:36 pm #1204846329It was a big red flag when The Worst Person in the World couldn’t get Screenplay or when Drive My Car and Penelope Cruz didn’t even make the longlists for Best Film and Best Actress. It’s funny how BAFTA is getting more basic while the Academy is sailing towards more diverse and international options.
ReplyMarch 13, 2022 at 11:00 am #1204844819Still think TPOTD is going to win Best Film. But if an upset is happening it’s gonna be none other than Dune.
It lost Editing lol
March 13, 2022 at 10:07 am #1204844557What do you mean? Is it not going to be live?
No, they are basically starting the ceremony soon and we’ll see the recorded version a few hours later.
March 13, 2022 at 10:03 am #1204844537Here hoping some of the winners leak since it’s pre-recorded.
March 10, 2022 at 6:45 am #1204839367I’m fine with Will winning the Oscar but I really would like Benedict to win BAFTA because I think he deserves *something* for TPOTD.
An interesting thing one of the voters said on that BAFTA podcast: that many women voters might feel uncomfortable voting for Smith since it would mean ignoring the brilliance, hard work and talent of two women. I don’t know how much this thinking will impact some of the voters but I’ve seen some complaints in that regard here too.
