Claire Foy by a MILE. But I think Imelda Staunton will dethrone her soon.October 21, 2020 at 3:32 am #1203793035
The reason why I’m predicting Amy over Viola is that not only she’s overdue but also she has the perfomance that we’ve never seen her do before. Russell Crowe almost won fo A Beautiful Mind if it wasn’t for his remarks. Ron Howard knows how to deliver Oscar material for actors. Amy’s scene where she goes amok to the streets has OSCARS written all over it.
As for Viola. She just won 4 years ago and take away the singing, it’s the same quality of acting we see her do in movies like Fences, Widows, and How To Get Away With Murder.October 16, 2020 at 3:24 am #1203781834
Amy Adams campaigning for Lead Actress in American Hustle. She would have won even if Lawrence was in the mix especially considering she had the beefier material.October 14, 2020 at 12:48 pm #1203778619
I keep thinking that maybe this is the movie that will give Ron Howard the Lead Actor – Supporting actor win combo he missed way back 2002 just because Russell Crow decided to be problematic.October 14, 2020 at 10:36 am #1203778252
Amy Adams is totally winning this. I’m still gonna see how baity Viola’s performance would be however she already has an Oscar so until then my money’s on Amy. Damn. That’s Amy Adams’s first Oscar-baity role where she gets to strip off all the calmness and be a literal firecracker of an actress.October 14, 2020 at 10:28 am #1203778226
Amy is really not an winning threat as shes the 3rd priority from her studio. However her nomination chances increased a lot.
Glenn truly rolling the dice in this tho.
How do you know she’s a third priority of the studio? Out of the three actresses, Amy is the only one with a strong overdue narrative behind her back and arguably the biggest star of the three so no, she ain’t third.October 14, 2020 at 10:23 am #1203778197
Shit! The acting competition just got serious. It’s fucking real, Glenn and Amy are in it to WIN IT. This is Amy’s baitiest role to date and thankfully she has now scenes that would totally expose her intense potential as a character actress. Glenn Close has never been better. Gird your loins guys. THEY ARE WINNING. I don’t care that much about the filn but I’m still gonna see it.October 13, 2020 at 11:13 am #1203775982
The teaser was AMAZING. I Had goosebumps. And literally, I doubt there’s any drama this years that could compete to this. The cinematography is more stunning than ever. The cast? Wow! I’m going to throw hands if this doesn’t win any ensemble award. However, my emmy money would be on Gillian Anderson. I mean, as I’ve seen in the trailer, she has a scene where she’s breaking down on her bed? Phenomenal. Josh O Connor too.October 13, 2020 at 11:08 am #1203775976
If Netflix are clever and O’Connor like Corrin ends up being in 8/10 of the episodes they ought to submit him in Lead and Menzies in Supporting.
Olivia Colman or Queen Elizabeth is the ONLY lead of the Crown regardless if her costars have equal episodes. She’s the only leading character.October 8, 2020 at 5:59 pm #1203767836
Blargh sweeps are so boring. What’s even the point of having 5 different Awards bodies if they’re all going to decide to award the same person? It’s ridiculous how often the annual awards roundup list just has one name on it even though there are 5 different trophies. Broken system.
There are winners whose sweeps are justified (Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, JK Simmons, Viola Davis…) But I agree. Sweeps are boring.October 8, 2020 at 5:56 pm #1203767831

I’m surprised no one is commenting Rabbit Hole.October 3, 2020 at 9:55 pm #1203757872
Yall arguing about Nyongo vs Lawrence when the real winner that year was Sally Hawkins.October 3, 2020 at 9:48 pm #1203757859
Finsal season of Ozark is going to be fire.
Julia Garner is going to win a 3rd consecutive Emmy.
I have a feeling that ut will explode too. I’m also predicting a huge acting showcase from Laura Linney yet again if the writers decide to kill off one of the Byrde kids (my guts is Jonah).
