And that’s the reason Colin won’t win, Elvis overperform, only one nomination behind Banshees. And the reason Brendan won’t win is because his picture wasn’t nominated, I learned my lesson with Boseman when his picture wasn’t nominated, everyone thought he was going to win even without the Best Picture nomination but that was not the case.
Elvis did not overperform. It got nominated in categories where it was predicted to get nominated.

January 19, 2023 at 10:53 am #1205253790Are we all set to have the most perfect Best Actress Oscar lineup since 2006?
Since *2010.
January 16, 2023 at 9:07 am #1205247870There is no other explanation for Austin Butler tanking. His is a BREAKTHROUGH performance. It doesn’t matter if it’s a biopic of a famous person or if it gained millions in BO. The Academy doesn’t award that, especially if he is competing against industry veterans Fraser, Farrell, hell even Nighy. No one can name a precedent where Best Actor or Actress is won by a newcomer.
January 11, 2023 at 4:50 pm #1205237840Dude, you’re the one who is high if you don’t think Butler is taking SAG
Pleaseeee. The Whale had more noms than Elvis and ACTORS love a comeback narrative from a Veteran. No Male Actor has ever won SAG for a breakthrough performance.
January 11, 2023 at 1:14 pm #1205237386Do you guys really think Austin Butler is winning at SAG? A breakthrough actor with zero prestige in filmography over the likes of Brendan Fraser, Colin Farrell or hell even Bill Nighy? Are you guys high or something?

October 18, 2022 at 11:19 am #1205125129People seem to forget that the first actress nominated in a Todd Field-helmed film lost to a woman of color at the Oscars. History is doomed to repeat itself. Not only that, she was no other than SISSY SPACEK a previous winner in one of her best roles to date. Seem to pretty much mirror Cate’s trajectory to a third win if we’re being completely perceptive here. I idolize Cate and I’m sure she gave a one hell of a performance in Tar, but if you have women of color who give EQUALLY excellent performances in the same category it would be too sour to give it to a white woman who already has 2 Oscars in her name and can get another Oscar-calibre role next year.
